Nine Inch Nails was a big part of my musical landscape growing up and "Hurt" is one of those songs that attached itself to me in the ways good art does—as a mirror, a marker, and a surface for my experience to be projected onto and reflected back transformed.

There's something profound about how certain pieces of music become woven into the fabric of our lives, carrying weight and meaning that shifts and deepens over time. "Hurt" has been that kind of constant for me—a song that has held space for grief, growth, and ultimately healing.

There's something powerful about taking a piece of art that has shaped you and reshaping it in return—finding your own voice within something that helped you find your voice in the first place. 

Art at its best doesn't just reflect our experience back to us; it gives us tools to work through it, to transform it, to make meaning from what might otherwise remain unprocessed.

In case you are unfamiliar: Justin Mojahed is an American rapper born and raised in Boston, MA. You might recognize him from his various viral freestyle rap videos, collaborations with @monsterenergy and Dr. Pepper, appearances on Sway In The Morning and @worldstarhiphopexclusive, or even his work with artists like @770rd @logic_official @official-sage-the-gemini @trippie-hippie-2 and @liltjay!!! His feature on this single came about through unlikely circumstances, but I couldn’t be more grateful that he put in the work he did on my beat.
