Composer Club Challenge #1 Entry Playlist!

Here is a piece I wrote and recorded for The Composer Club. The challenge was to write something that would fit well with this description:

"My Ship crash landed on this god forsaken rock over a week ago, there are no signs of life... Am I, the only soul on this planet?"

After crash landing on an unknown Planet, one man emerges from the wreckage and stumbles to his feet with minor injuries. After a week of survival, he realises he may be alone on a desolate, although there is possibility he is not...

In this situation, would you become the explorer, searching the undiscovered sands of time, surviving alone but in hope of finding something... Maybe a civilization, or the ruins of ancient beings?

Or would you panic, living in fear of the unknown, not knowing if there are others out there watching you in the dark, or fearing that you are literally the only soul alive on a ginormous alien planet...

There are many emotions and feelings that being alone on an alien planet could inspire. The challenge is to compose a song for this situation, and how you would survive. Courage. Fear. Embrace. The choice is yours.

Composer Club Alien World Challenge

"An astronaut crash lands on an unknown planet, and after a week of survival, he finds out that he isn't alone. He finds civilization who rescues him from the isolation and makes him feel like home. Later, he realizes that no matter what, he isn't home where he belongs."

This was initially a challenge given to me (yes this is sans Vivek) with the above brief, but as I finished, we realized that this is not fiction, but a story of all societal misfits. The ones who try to fit in to the system but can't because they're different. I won't go on, interpret as you wish.

Sonder.
(n.) the realisation of the fact that each random passerby lives a life as vivid and complex as your own.

This piece by aimsir aka Yatharth Roy Vibhakar  has been labor of love of almost 4 years. He began working on it ever since his father exposed him to an environment that was new and strange to him, making him realize the importance of each other's presence, straying away from the egocentric approach towards life and so on. Upon stumbling on to the word "sonder" later that year aimsir decided to make a musical piece based on it since he had had a similar experience.

"sonder." reflects on the importance of existence beyond the living, which extends to technology and the unknown. Each sound and element in the track has been carefully selected as they represent different aspects of the title and create a world of its own. Through this piece, aimsir hope to evoke a sense of sonder within the listener's mind and welcome the thought of featuring in each others lives rather than the other way around.

This rendition of the popular Miles Davis/Bill Evans tune ‘Blue in Green’ is an intersection of expression by Adrian and Mohit. Adrian, true to his roots of being an instrumentalist, delivers a beautiful soundscape of emotion on the piano. Mohit, moves away from the electronic-soul space from his first EP to a more traditional approach towards composition, a personal one. He tries to best express himself on his instrument. What you hear on this track is the coming together of two artists staying true to their instruments and delivering music that speaks to them on a personal level.
