https://soundcloud.com/dlozada-1 was (and still is) a singer having sung in numerous Honor Choirs, including the National Symphonic Choir of Costa Rica. La Dj says singing was the primordial beginning of her start and evolution as a DJ. Singing a cappella in choirs with 8-9 part vocal arrangements ranging from Baroque to Chamber to Gospel to Renaissance to singing with a Symphonic Orchestra, taught her music composition, which she draws heavily upon when selecting tracks and mixing.

Although she does not play an instrument (besides Technics turntables and her Pioneer XDJ-RR console 😉), La Dj believes that the human voice is the primordial instrument; at least for her, it has been. Her extensive knowledge and experience with singing, as well as her understanding of musical composition, especially her adept understanding and interpretation of harmonization, caught the attention of several of her DJ/Producer friends who all suggested she take up DJing. And that’s how her story as a DJ began.

What is her interpretation of “primordial” and how does this mix relate to that? La Dj says, “To me, primordial is the beginning of that very moment; it’s the space wherein the past and the current moment meet to create the future. That’s the space I use when I mix and blend tracks”. 

She continues, “We all have this space; every moment is a primordial moment when we can incorporate the past (the Energies of our ancestors, the origins of our pain and pleasure, and the lessons we have learned) and create something positively new. What we do with this information is up to us. How do you create your primordial future? 

Music is one of my ways, and by creating this mix and your listening means that YOU are also part of my primordial future just as I now am part of yours. 😉 “

LA DJ's story for us is a journey on a lonely path through the wilderness that eventually makes its way home to a heart full of love.  It is travelled by a passionate soul who has felt betrayed and abandoned, yet finds fulfillment and meaning in the end.  The soul wanders mysterious roads in ancient lands, thirsting and hungering for a vision of light.  The soul walks the road of contrasts and impossible odds.  We finally reach our destination, realizing that the soul is us.

We want these DJ sets created with serious storytelling, with a sacred message and the power of the ecstatic vision, whereby the storyteller enters a deep emotional state of peace, vision, revelation, and emotional unity in the heart with the eternal and life-giving love of God. The storyteller should include mystical sounds throughout, from great ethno-organic, organic house, slowtech, psychill, psydub, psybient, ambient, downtempo, progressive, dubtech, melodic techno, and whatever else encapsulates the otherworldly found in this world. :)

Taking from the mission and success of the Primordial Grooves project, this will take us back to the beginning energies of mankind, thus "primordial" energy. A exploration of the heart and soul and mind and body to find what makes us connected since the very beginning of mankind. What do we share as human beings and various tribes? This energy empowers and also heals us to the core. It is the life force, so the mix will have that original life force and be share in the way of all stories of the ancient storytelling oral tradition, which make up true history that is passed down from generation to generation.  This brings us to our innermost sanctums of our hearts. This brings us to God!
