Simone Berto - Monergy (Aurel den Bossa & Ias Ferndale Remix)

The fifth release on Deep Stories Records is a two track EP from No Sé Leon who’s a German producer from Frankfurt known for his releases on Kunsthandwerk, Wood Limited and Uxoa Dutxa Elite.

Both of the tracks blend poignant melodies with uplifting pads to create music that burns itself directly into people's memory.
"Fere" opens the EP with its concise synth and unfolding of the captivating structure, which has an immersive groove perfect for the dance floor. In contrast, "Tamen" has a building arc of tension that develops with blissful suspense that reveals its very own drama.

Iman Deeper returns to Monog with the superb Closer To You EP. This one follows his last effort here, on remix duties for Dennis Allen’s Midnight Turn from the Summer of 2021. Iman left Iran to pursue his dreams and find his place in the musical world. In 2008 he settled in Berlin, where he continues his musical journey having spent time in several other cities around Europe and the Middle East. To date, he boasts a raft of releases on top labels and also runs his own imprint, Deep Locus Records with fellow artist Hubrist. In 2021 he launched his own label – Deed Music, which aims to bring together seasoned, as well as up-and-coming artists.

The release opens with the title track, Closer To You, which sets the scene for a trip deep into house with warm rolling grooves. Arpeggiated fragments and thick low-end basses are joined by enchanting vocals to create an emotive streak in the sound as gritty sequences add contrast. Walk Of The Walkyries is up next, delivering a solid groove that will definitely keep the late-night floors moving. A moody groover, punchy kicks and fluttering percussions create a flowing rhythm which lay the foundation for warm, subby basses and airy pads. Soft melodies sit in the background, contrasting with darker phrases beautifully. Rounding out the release, Haoma aka Behnam Zekavat marks his Monog debut with a tight remix on Walk Of The Walkyries. His musical journey began in the early 2000’s when he picked up a guitar. Haoma has been on the Iranian scene for over two decades and in 2021, he entered a new phase with his music being released on Deed Music, a place where he showcases his unique style. On the remix here, we’re treated to a solid workout on the floor thanks to chunky beats and flurries of exotic percussions. The track carries a superb rhythmic flow which is manifested in the cacophony of drums on offer. Subtle melodies add intrigue while darker elements deliver that introspective vibe.

Carl Higson is originally from Manchester but now is based in Kendal, in the UK’s Lake District. The tranquil scenery and surroundings of this beautiful part of northern England have had a big influence on his recent productions.
Releasing his own albums and EP’s on Bandcamp over the last few years, his style varies from mellow ambient sounds through to deep melodic house. He has recently had releases on Gibbon Records and is a resident on London based Bloop radio.

Taking a risk to edit this classic track has paid off with early support from Cristoph himself. Preserving the synth laden breakdown of the original, Blank Page adds a simple but effective bassline that fills out the low end and compliments this by reworking the original chords with beautiful strings.

Initially written exclusively to fit into his sets the track transitions seamlessly from section to section, allowing a trance classic to be utilized on the progressive house dance floor.
