Great track - that "gone, long gone" vocal line sounds *incredibly* familiar. But at this moment I cannot put my finger on which song/act I know it from. But I love it that is what matters :)

The Cynic

I wrote this song when I was traveling the world in my 20s. I arranged and wrote the instrumental parts. My former band The Borderless Puzzle recorded this version on our album Now Feel This. I'm playing the bass and singing.

January’s fool steps out into the limelight.
The first day of the year is always filled with fear
and hope and love and good intention.

February’s fool wraps up against the cold
wind blows a hole where a heart used to be
and now doesn’t even get a mention.

waiting out the winter.

May’s fool is turning over new leaves
hoping spring will bring some clear days,
show new ways to be together.
