Weird never goes out of style, and FOOLiE is as off the wall as they come. And while his ideas are bugged out, they also exude an air of patience. It's a delicate balance, but San Jose's masked vigilante delivers the type of disorienting equation that we at Main Course love. Enter the Depth Perception EP.

Crisscut quickly spirals into a whirling frenzy with its playful yet deliberate synth pattern & callous drums. On Freedom, our masked assailant gets a hand from England's JazzyUK for a moody exposition. Wummy is a brooding arrangement that takes us to the nucleus of strange; is this what the Big Bang might have sounded like? Rounding out the pack, FOOLiE teams up with Texan Wallace K for a fuel injected club weapon that will make your adrenal glands bubble.

Consummating this mind-bending collection is a pixelated eyegasm from Los Angeles based artist Nicholas Murphy, who repurposed a photo by Manuel Lopez, matching the emotive scramble in FOOLiE's compositions.

These tracks are the product of collabs with two of my favorite people: Justin Martin (Belter) & NIMA G (Melter). Normally I would gush about the EP’s tracks but it feels awkward here. I’ll just say that road testing these has been very very rewarding. Bring on the summer festivals!

Eveningperple release their debut Holy Molé EP 'More Romance' featuring 3 new tracks and remixes by RIFFA, Proper Villains, and House Divided. Bringing back their funky fresh stylings to the label – their previous releases on Holy Molé include the Winter Fresh compilation and a remix of Codes & Astronomar 'How We Do'.

Leading with dreamy, amorous stabs, the title track 'More Romance' introduces a deep bassline that carries through the funky rhythms and fresh soundscapes. 'U Really R' moves into brighter melodic flavors with lush, natural samples balanced out by cheeky drum programming and a sassy bass growl. Diving straight into bouncy, syncopation, 'Mirage' moves through ethereal instrumental waves before bringing back the swinging rhythms now with spacey synths as the melody takes flight.

Proper Villains amps up the remix of 'U Really R' with oscillating acid lines and a heavy low-end, meanwhile RIFFA layers his remix with propulsive percussion and a heartbeat bassline. House Divided drives the funk way up remixing 'More Romance' with tech-heavy grooves.

Lenny & I started this EP in early 2020, back before the pandemic shut everything down. We had two wildly different tracks basically in the bag (Triangle & Square), but we felt we needed a third to connect & complete the EP. Circle is the product of three virtual studio sessions, where our main goal was to throw rules & preconceptions out the window. I still laugh when I listen to these tracks, I hope you do too.
