While Ron Grainer was the one who composed the Doctor Who theme, the original 1963 theme as we know it was brought to life by Delia Derbyshire and the BBC Radiophonic Workshop.
In 1980, a reimagined version of the Doctor Who theme (arranged by Grainer himself) appeared in the album "The Exciting Television Music of Ron Grainer".
