Our next guest deals in fantastical chimeras, weaving tales around silent winds and languages long forgotten. Wanderwelle are a duo from Amsterdam who have been making waves with exquisitely executed releases on the dub-drenched Silent Season imprint. Their music is imbued with an enchanted sense of narrative, traveling to the farthest outposts imaginable with no intention to return. Through a slew of tastefully selected mixes they have also exhibited a sublime ear for DJing, such that we found it no less than necessary to ask them for a contribution to UNRUSH. So take a large dose of vast, empty space, and meditate on this mix from the one and only Wanderwelle.

As we edge closer to the end of the year, we bring you a very special podcast from one of the artists who inspired the foundations of On the 5th Day, THNTS. His second podcast for us, this time THNTS gifts us with a very personal ambient journey which for him, "is like the soundtrack for an imaginary movie, but of course everyone is invited to have their own experience with it."

For us, this is the perfect celebration of the pursuit of dreams and of new chapters, reminding us of the importance of hitting pause on the crazy and making time to unwind and reflect. Perfection!

On The 5th Day Podcast #076 - THNTS

VBC [Vibrance] aka Victor J. is the soul behind the Vibrance collective, and resident artist for the Monument clubnights. Nurturing a special bond with Nature, he injects his vision for the in-forest festival La Vallée Électrique, curating the Forêt stage which highlights hypnotic electronic music and the beauty of south of France surroundings.

Currently based in Stockholm, he pays through this mix a tribute to his current home and playground, as well as an invite to discover the beauty of the northern sounds. This 68-minutes selection is strictly composed of Scandinavian music, and aims to picture the harmonious variety of landscapes between the Swedish capital and Copenhagen.

Victor offers us a mix in a very personal and contemplative dimension, a true manifesto of the best of the nordic ambient scene : hypnotic loops of grainy bass lines, heartbreaking melodies, throbbing rhythms, field recordings and cold noises for a homogeneous final rendering.  As indicated by the title and artwork related to the mix, it's a real journey through Scandinavia and its mysterious landscapes, made with love and passion.
