MZA - Chroma EP [Boisha]

With A Little Bird Told Me, MZA delivers her first full-length album: club-ready, organic, and visually immersive techno, built on precise sound design, tribal influences, and an exploration of sonic rituals. Across eight tracks, she expands her musical language beyond her previous EPs, while maintaining the intensity, rhythmic precision, and club energy that define her signature sound.

The album opens with Nothing Stays Hidden, an off-format track that immediately sets the project’s aesthetic tone, combining textured ambient layers, restrained melodies, subtle percussion, and a sensibility close to cinematic language. At the other end of the record, Never Let Me Fall draws on trap and hip-hop influences, supported by a vocal line reminiscent of a modern choral arrangement.

The first half of the album dives into the most organic and percussive tracks. Fast & Curious, Heat Rising, and Blush form a triptych shaped by tribal influences and an almost animalistic physicality: abundant percussion, raw timbres, and instinctive rhythms. These tracks evoke a humid, vibrant space, where the beats move like an undercurrent of tension.

The second half grows more incisive. With Bite Me Softly and Rage Against The Clock, MZA revisits her fast-tech inspirations: accelerated tempos, compact textures, and sharper attacks. The energy is direct and vivid, revealing a more abrasive, nocturnal side of the record.

A Little Bird Told Me captures the spirit of its time: dense, tangible techno shaped by percussion, textures, and a taste for mystery. The album confirms MZA’s shift toward a more cinematic aesthetic, while retaining the precision and edge required for the club.

Desire is one of the rising producer and DJ to watch. She comes back with “An Ode to Our Night” that demonstrates her genuine solar energy and introduces us to her universe infused with old school sounds yet twisted with a modern touch. The 5-track EP is imbued in acid, trance, electro, synthwave and a lot more influences which convey Desire’s rich and generous approach to music.
Only a few artists are able to carry a message throughout their music and Desire is one of them, as the moving and powerful energy that emanates from the release conveys a feeling of empowerment. Each track transports us in an ecstatic balad blending melancolic moments, dancefloor-ready beats and stroboscopic acid lines.
The 5 original tracks go along with 2 remixes by Azo (Kiosk radio resident, and spotted by Beatport as an emerging talent), and MZA (Maison Close / Taapion)

Desire, productrice et DJ tran(s)ce, s'installe depuis peu dans le paysage des artistes à suivre de près. Son nouvel EP témoigne de l’énergie solaire qui lui est propre et présente son univers qui convoque des sonorités old school en leur apportant le twist de la modernité. Entre influences acid, trance prog, synth wave, electro, et beaucoup d’autres encore, les 5 tracks de cet EP distillent une musique aussi riche que généreuse.
Rares sont les artistes qui arrivent à faire passer un message à travers leur musique, et Desire est l’une d’entre elleux. Il y a en effet quelque chose qui tient presque de l’empowerment dans l’énergie touchante et puissante qui se dégage de l’EP, où chaque morceau nous emmène dans une balade extatique qui mélange envolées mélancoliques, beats taillés pour le dancefloor ou lignes acides stroboscopiques.
Les 5 tracks sont accompagnées de deux remixes par les talentueuses productrices Azo (résidente chez Kiosk Radio et repérée comme artiste émergente à suivre par Beatport) et MZA (Maison Close / Taapion).

Second single from the Z Series, MZA invites DJ Overclock for an edit of the famous All Good Things (come to an end) by Nelly Furtado. After an initial release on Agora Records, the two friends, who also share a studio in Pantin, confirm their style, blending melodic trance and modern groove, sprinkled with precise and incisive sound design. The closing vibe of the track has already captivated many, becoming highly requested and frequently featured in MZA's sets over the past few months.

Here’s my set from RSO, recorded on the morning of October 12, 2024, during the closing of the Summe stage.

This set was built like a story — weaving textures, tension, and release, always with the after-hours energy of RSO in mind. I like to blur the lines between techno, trance, and emotional storytelling, creating a journey that feels both physical and internal.

For me, a set only makes sense when experienced in full — every track has its place, and the narrative unfolds from beginning to end. Techno and electronic music are my life; they are where I put all my passion, joy, and obsession. This mix reflects that devotion: intense, dreamy, and deeply personal.

MZA — Synoid Weekender, RSO.BERLIN — October 12th 2024

The track reveals one of the most percussive, groovy, and radiant facets of the LP, with an energy fully geared toward the club.

Driven by a rich percussion palette and agile rhythms, Fast & Curious immediately establishes a sensory atmosphere: a hybrid space between the humidity of an imagined jungle and the exhilaration of the dancefloor. Organic textures blend seamlessly with electronic grooves, crafted with surgical precision, giving the track a character that is simultaneously joyful, wild, and irresistibly danceable.

Balancing a groovy sub and meticulous sound design, MZA sketches a first chapter whose depth and textures hint at the more cinematic direction of the LP.

Fast & Curious is set for release on December 12, 2025, via Z Series, accompanied by a visual universe that extends the track’s organic, percussive energy.

Artiste phare de la scène parisienne, la DJ et productrice MZA performe autant en DJ set
qu’en live. Faisant des ravages dans les clubs de tout le pays(Rex Club, Virage, Cabaret Sau-

Le Bikini, Slalom...) elle délivre son univers fast, bouncy et trippant, mélangeant influences
techno et styles modernes.

Après des EPs sur Maison Close et Extra Energy, 2024 est l’année d’un nouveau tournant où MZA lance sa série de singles Z Series, qui met en avant les nombreux genres et collaborations qu’elle approfondit. Engagée dans le milieu queer, son titre«Your love» sort sur la compilation Bar-bi(e)turix au milieu de 20 artistes femmes dans la musique électronique (Chloé, Olympe4000, Belaria, Minuit Machine...).

Elle participe aussi activement à la transmission de son savoir-faire dans des formations Ableton en non-mixité, avec des collectifs comme @_connecther.

Body To Body is a collaborative platform, label & studio based in Paris and founded by Sina XX. The label challenges the status quo and the myth of the “lonely producer” by focusing exclusively on collaborative works. The first two editions involved artists like Lacchesi, u.r.trax or Kuss and quickly caught the attention of the techno community and artists such as Ellen Alien, Amélie Lens or SPFDJ to name a few.

In this third chapter, Sina XX invites Parisian techno artists Antigone, Ferdinger, Nymed & MZA to expand boundaries and generate inspirations through collective creation. Those tracks embody a profoundly tribal and minimalist aesthetic while focusing on the dancefloor. Tip !

Paris-based DJ and producer Lefblom makes his debut with Hyperbells, a hypnotic two-tracker built for movement and mind travel. Fusing percussive drive with trance-infused textures, the release dives deep into Lefblom’s signature sound, somewhere between UK-influenced groove, minimal pressure, and heady repetition. The EP features Hyperroll, Mess Bells, and a high-energy inspired, clubby remix from Paris powerhouse MZA, who twists the title track into a fast-paced, trippy workout with her distinct bouncy touch. Lefblom continues to explore the fringes of club music with raw energy and vision. Hyperbells is immersive, tense, and made for dancers who like to lose track of time.
