We were the teenage wasteland
Apathy with a skateboard
with sonic youth to guide us
Anarchy was ours and she 
provided us with nourishment
The tired and jaded kept us laughing
There was no future
only the remnants of someone else's vision
We took the scraps and built a temporary
Anti-contemporary

Nothing would last forever
only a shelter before the storm
And when the fall of society came 
we would dance and sing and revel in the rubble
Our inheritance

We were sub-culture gutter punks
Daze and daydream
Nights of folly,
they belonged to us
They told us it was wrong
but that's why we did it anyway
