Nandu returns with full force on OFF Recordings with Glömde, a high strung melodic techno cut consisting of one original track and two revamps.

Rolling into a broad groove from the get-go, Glömde is a tightly knit Tech House banger that brings together firm percussion and melodic synth thrusts. Singer Tyra’s delicate vocals, at times whispered, add an extra layer of harmonies, making the track even more compact and entrancing.

Netherlander techno craftsman Love Over Entropy delivers a spellbinding remix, stripping down most of the original elements and reverting the focus onto the percussive backbone. Seemingly straightforward, LOE reconstructs the initial groove, rebuilding it up with industrial details and a raw, ample sound esthetic.

An artisan of deep house reworks, Manoo explores Glömde’s house appeal. Kicking off with a tribal percussion lead that stays centered throughout the cut, Manoo’s remix brings out the track’s versatility and plays on its spaciousness.

Tim Green is back with another brace of high impact club tunes of the sort that have made him one of the most in-demand producers of the day.

Whether serving up rolling techno treats for Cocoon, essential mixes for the Body Language series on Get Physical or laying down compelling club sets in the DJ booth, Brit Tim Green is unstoppable right now. Here he steps up to the Get Weird imprint with two more tantalising cuts that show just how broad and brilliant an artist he is.

Stirring opener ‘For A Memory’ is eleven minutes of wordless and intoxicating female vocals, slick rubbery drums and plunging bass. The overall effect is hypnotic, rolling and perfectly groovy, and it will no doubt have whole dancefloors locked under its spell. Some little melodic explosions, sweeping filters and luscious pads all help add a real air of grace to proceedings that mark it out as another classic from Green.

‘For A Distant Memory’ is a subtle but noteworthy reworking of the same cut. In this one, the drums are less direct and more stripped back, there is a focus on the angelic, glowing pads and on spine tingling slices of synth that are reflective and emotive as they drop in and out. It is a perfectly trance inducing, heart warming cut that the likes of Lee Burridge at his All Day I Dream parties, or various DJs playing on a sun kissed terrace around the globe, will all lap right up.

Something is going on in Mexico at the minute. Something big.  Maybe there is something in the water breeding all this creativity. Maybe the strength of the chillis and mezcal are supercharging the brains of their electronic artists. We don’t know, but what we do know is that the Central American state is producing some of the finest house music on the planet at the moment with a distinct latin flavor that is getting dance floors moving across the globe. Riding the crest of this Mexican musical wave is the weeks podcast contributor Louie Fresco, frequently described as one of the most versatile producers and DJs in the game today.

This multifaceted DJ and Producer from Mexico has single handedly put his hometown Mexicali B.C. on the map with his many original tracks and remixes as he as quickly gained the attention of  some of the biggest names in the electronic scene with everyone from Felix Da Housecat to Damien Lazarus stuffing their record bags with his releases.  As a DJ he’s graced some of the biggest stages the world has to offer with performances across the globe including a showcase of his new label Mexa at Barcelona’s Sonar. So with all that in mind we thought it was high time Mr. Fresco delivered some of these infectious sounds for us on the DT podcast although we were just as interested in his fabled culinary skills including his famous ‘Loaded Potatoes’  and Louie Fres-Canellonis! Sounds good to us!
