About the Artist:
From a young age on, the Dutch and formerly Belgium based https://soundcloud.com/amekmar has been passionate about music and all it has to offer. Ever since getting her first cassette tapes followed by a Discman and CD’s, music was played all day, every day.

https://soundcloud.com/amekmar has a wide interest in music from artists of various genres, such as Duke Ellington, Nirvana and Cherry Moon Trax – to name a few. Their music has provided her with far-reaching insights of what music means to her. Once she felt the joy and excitement of standing behind the turntables and share the endlessly sought for music with others, the microbe of deejaying settled deeply into her body. During her deejay sets, https://soundcloud.com/amekmar knows how to keep the crowd moving by serving uncompromising, dark, energetic, and yet somewhat mysterious techno, always including a decent and refreshing selection of records.

Creating and playing music are what’s keeping her busy at the moment. https://soundcloud.com/amekmar can be described as an ‘all-or-nothing’ individual who goes after what she seeks by working her head off for it. Her goals remain dependable and straightforward: learning and getting better each day, and developing as a person and artist by seeking to push her own boundaries. 

Her musical talent and growth haven’t been left unnoticed. Her development is paying off and has already taking her to venues such as Ampere, Club Vaag, Basis and Razance – but also festivals like Dour, Extrema Outdoor and Tomorrowland. Besides performing, she has also been making steps production-wise. With releases on Coincidence Records, Everyone on Acid, Courtoisy, and Tabulat she can be noticed as a fast-growing seedling.

Hailing from the Yorkshire Dales just outside of Leeds, Balrog is the founder of UK record label Khazad Records. As an artist his style could be categorised as industrial groove, focusing on heavy groove-ridden drums, driving bass lines, and obscure distorted vocals. 

Balrog has gone from strength to strength over the last few years with multiple releases on exciting techno labels including Soma, Instruments Of Discipline, Moments In Time, Green Fetish and The Meaning Of Rave. His music has received support from some of the biggest in the scene including Amelie Lens, Dax J, Rebekah, Perc, Paula Temple, Manni Dee, and many more.

This mix is part of Balrog’s vinyl only mix series “When Techno Had Groove”, focussing on working through his collection of records from the late 90s and early 2000’s, a taste of what to expect on March 12.

@Aeschlimann is a Swiss/Italian DJ and producer from Basel. Since his childhood, music has been an important part of his life and accompanies him daily through his everyday life. Fascinated by rhythm, groove and reverberating bass, he discovered his passion for electronic music at an early age. Already at the age of 6 he started to prove his musical creativity on the drums. 
In his sets and productions today, Aeschlimann impresses with modern techno with oldschool nuances.

Sounds From NoWhere welcomes aboard the Italian dj & producer WarinD (WarinD Records).

Giuseppe De Chiara began his WarinD project, influenced by Hardgroove, acid and distorted sounds in September of 2015, In the same time, he started his own record label "WarinD Records" to release his first productions.
WarinD manages to capture billowing pieces of zeitgeist in his sounds of rapid Techno structures, twisted, distorted lines of Acid and his distinctive sense of melancholy, resonating deeply within a new generation of young ravers trying to find their ways through the rotten battlefields of our postmodern times.
We are thrilled to host this killer mix weaving through hypnotic, raw and groovy moods.

For the podcast of this week we had the pleasure to invite the Warsaw based DJ Internal Explorer. With his craft of 10 years experience as a vinyl collector, DJ and producer he delivers a perfectly balanced podcast taking the listener thru different styles of techno. 

Internal Explorer played in many top-tier clubs in Poland such as 999, Smolna, Luzztro, Transformator, Crackhouse, Schron and many many more. He is a well known name in the Polish Techno scene. This also resulted in the beginning of 'Trainspotting', a series of events hosting mainly top players from Poland where he is the co-creator. 

Under his former alias - Adam Brass - he produced House music at the very beginning of his career. Today he is known for a more heavier techno sound with influences from the 00s and 90s. He takes his inspiration from names like Jeff Mills, Freddy K and the British Murder Boys. During his time in Brisbane in 2019-20 (where he graduated as Sound Engineer at Sae) he was a member of the collective 'Industrial Nation', organizing and hosting parties with on of the bigger names in the scene such as Hector Oaks or Regal.

A familiar face for the ninth ALU podcast: Max Rfr. Some of you might know Max from playing at one of the very first ALU sessions. This DJ, producer but also organizer (based in Tilburg) is known for his deep, dynamic, hypnotic, and firm sound, but always with a groovy element. Which makes him a perfect fit with ALU. He also doesn’t shy away when it comes to experimenting with styles and music. He always thrives to tell his own authentic story through his music and takes the crowd on a journey.

In 2020 he co-founded ‘Eindstation’ in Utrecht, where he is also a resident. They want to go back to the essence and intimacy of the techno and club culture. They believe the underground is where the soul of the scene resides. They held their first official event at the Helling Utrecht in 2022.

This drive led him to pursue a formal education in sound engineering at the renowned SAE Institute in Brisbane, Australia, where he delved deep into the intricacies of audio production.
After completing his studies, internal explorer moved back to Warsaw, where in 2020, he co-founded Trainspotting events, followed by the establishment of the celebrated Sfora festival in 2022, marking his lasting imprint on the Polish electronic music scene.
