Oozing gentle optimism, ‘Visited by Strangers’ takes a different approach from earlier work. Where records like ‘Donde Hubo Fuego’ established a direct, hard-edged style, this one shifts emphasis to introspection. It’s also a product of the pandemic; the remote nature of its various collaborations speaking to an elusive sense of community and belonging. 

Complete with auto-tuned vocals courtesy of Catnapp, our premiere finds sublime tension in a cinematic arrangement of field recording and synth.

'Movement Gallery’ by Colorado-based artist Werner Levant showcases a meticulous balance between traditional string instrumentation and more modern elements. i made myself bigger ears from clay to hear the ghosts that roam the island. they certainly had something to say about loss. isosaari is heavy with its military history—bunkers and installations, a torpedo. several empty and haunted buildings, tombstone, the stone base of russian barracks, german casemates and a mass grave of the reds from the civil war.

in the forest, shadows lingered in tangled roots and loss was woven into the fabric of ground. this island is a strange testament to what remains.

’a soft plea, we seek freedom. we all navigate grief’s landscape. but for liberation for the living, you need to hear those who are alive’, the ghosts said.

ПОТОП (“potop ” , or deluge in Russian) presents seven pieces encapsulating dark apocalyptic themes, each setting the scene for a disorientating sonic landscape that references the genesis flood narrative found in the world’s ancient mythologies. Centered on Earth's return to a pre-anthropocene state of watery chaos, this allegory illustrates both punishment for man’s mortal sins as well as new beginnings born from the washing away of everything that has reached its final, obsolete stage.
