Fresh from success alongside Jimmy Danger with the ‘Garden Tune’ EP, Erritate brings forth another slammin’ release via Section 23 full of hard stepping beats and bass, this time around with a fresh injection of old school vibes.

‘Airdresser’ has nothing to do with sticking your head in one of those 80’s style hair vacum things, only found when visiting the hairdresser with the misses. What it is, however, is a monster of a track following in the footsteps of ‘Strange Seeings’. Rough, rugged and raw and without a doubt one for the MCs to roll through. Drop this anywhere in a DJ set and watch heads virtually fly all over the place.

Slip back in time with ‘Memorex’, a track so full of vibes from the past that you would think it was time to don the white gloves and Nike poppers, that is until the nasty bassline kicks in and it’s a full on smash anything up that's close by type affair. Deadly, even without a whiff of Vicks VapoRub.

Flip your virtual pressing to the B side and what you will find is ‘Shaka’. Rumour has it that Erriate produced this on a remote island, riding on the back of tigers which probably answers your questions as to how he made such an authentic tribal riddim’. One for the head shakers, head nodders and anyone else with an elastic neck.

Watch out for the vocal version of ‘Shaka’ in 2021.

Midnight Bass, Edinburgh's longstanding weekly club night bass renegades, have been ultra busy during 2020, reframing the negatives of being an events team in a post Covid world in lockdown by harnessing their passion, time and energy into stoking the fire of Scottish bass music at its very foundations. Since the start of the year they have been curating not only a formidable mix series showcasing the breadth of talent and tastes across Scotland but have also been digging deep into the darkest studios of the nations producers hunting down the finest bass smiths possible.. bringing them together into a mighty 20 track release: "Scotland VA". This is Midnight Bass's shapeshift into the realms of the co-label/club!

The ever tasty "Ramen" is a filthy club banger from Edinburgh producer Torso, with the crispest of drum precision, funky reese work to die for and instrumental hook that keeps you coming back for more this is another on point drop from the producer who has been firing out some banging cheeky bootlegs of late (Apparat's Goodbye anyone?). The hip hop and trap influenced switches in Ramen before the breakdown and on the outro are particularly nice touches that will shakedown in the clubs when they open up next year. Couple that with a name checking sample that we will all be chanting in the dance this is a solid drop from a solid VA which will be dropping on Dec 9th! Cmon now - Recognise My Torso!!
