Boomstraat had the privilege of choosing from dozens of unreleased tracks and these six made the cut.
‘Immersed’ is a selection of six Detroit techno and electro tracks all made by The Parallel in the last decade. The ep can roughly be divided into two styles, three warm club oriented Detroit techno tracks and three melodic electro tracks, both exemplary for his versatility in his musical productions.

A record number of well over 100 producers of electronic music from Gelderland and Overijssel (two provinces in the Eastern part of The Netherlands) submitted a track to Nieuwe Electronische Waar this year. A broad professional jury judged all the submitted tracks. The producers with the best rated music productions are selected for the 18th edition of Nieuwe Electronische Waar (NEW).

Release show
NEW celebrates its 18th release on Saturday March 9 at Luxor Live's new location, the former Rembrandt theater in Arnhem. The compilation is presented at 7:30 PM. In addition, several members of the selection will take turns behind the turntables. On that same date the album is released on Bandcamp and on all relevant streaming platforms and via the NEW website: www.nieuweelectronischewaar.nl

Nieuwe Electronische Waar (NEW) is a platform for electronic music in the Eastern part of The Netherlands. Every year NEW selects 10 producers of electronic music from Gelderland and Overijssel based on their submitted music productions. The selected tracks are released on the NEW compilation and the producers are supported for a year.

NEW is a joint project of Poppunt Gelderland, Poppunt Overijssel and BRUT. "Harrrp crawls to Nurse with the Ghouls EP, featuring two cuts of laser-focused broken bass dead set on moving all the creatures on the dancefloor. Formerly known as Scarlit Port, Ali Najafi has initiated a new chapter in his creative journey with Harrrp, pursuing a sleeker, more pliable, and ultimately funkier sound. “Ghouls” opens with Harrrp’s ghastly pitch-shifted vocals paired with a buoyant electro beat. As the track progresses, it veers into deconstructed club territory - rhythms splinter and Harrrp’s voice becomes submerged in static, sanity fraying like the crazed dancers. The hyperpop-inflected Accela Mix of “Ghouls” bumps up the tempo and swaps the ominous synths for rave-inflected stabs. But make no mistake - this is still resolutely future-forward funk. Artwork for this EP was designed by Olga Federova, who has also produced a video for “Ghouls”. Najafi continues to cultivate Nurse’s eclectic and genre-defying vision with Harrrp’s Ghouls."

Kandy Kuri started off as a freewheeling exploration of interdisciplinary interests: entangling and defamiliarizing music with poetry and the art of community building. Soon after releasing her first mix, Kandy Kuri became a fixture at house parties, local events and clubs. Building a slow, intentional community of passionate electronic music enthusiasts deepened her understanding of the genre, and her meteoric growth since is a testament to her magnetic verve and skillful ear.

Drawing from a wide repertoire of inspiration spanning UK bass/UK techno/percussions/breaks her sets are known for their spunk, steadying rage, and honesty. With Kandy Kuri behind the decks, the dancefloor mirrors her startlingly high energy as she curates a rich interplay of intuition, capture, and release - where you arrive is never where you find yourself waking up.

Unknown Mobile “Mobile Sorcery”- PE009


Levi Bruce, aka Unknown Mobile, has been a prominent figure of the Canadian Underground for quite some time. He resides in Montreal and has contributed to a number of North American labels. It seems only natural that he is the next release on Planet Euphorique. 

“Mobile Sorcery” could be his most rhythmically diverse 12” yet, recorded in just a couple of weekends it breaks free from 4 to the floor, experimenting confidently with syncopation, voices dipping in and out of focus. The opener Broke Melt presents a driving baseline filled with attitude, flickers of glistening synth arpeggios to soften the clanging drum patterns, working in harmony with delicate top lines. The hypnotic haze of textures carries through the record, A2 lifting in energy; shooting stabs, ricocheted sub base filling the space between commanding snares. The Beat Dub of Sorcery strips the track back to the essentials, resulting in a perfect tool for DJ’s building tension. Surprisingly keeping the essence of the tune whilst offering hints of more dubbed, percussive club pushing UK bass.

The B Side explores more of these unconventional rhythmic themes whilst highlighting the power of melody. Heavenly Depression accurately depicting it’s title, pulling on the struggle of your emotions through an ever-progressing lead woven tightly over sweeping pads. The closing track Wilders Lake ties the record together cohesively, lifted stabs to calm the tripped out percussion swooping in and out, growling bass alluding to darkness. The EP blends genres to create new feelings from familiar foundations, channelling Detroit inspired grit and emotion; well rounded to suit hazed and hedonistic dance-floors.
