Dados Biográficos

Radamés Gnattali nasceu em 27/01/1906, em Porto Alegre, RS. Estudou no Ginásio Anchieta. Na Escola de Belas-Artes, estudou piano com o professor Fontainha, tendo terminado o curso em 1924, com medalha de ouro.
Esteve no Rio de Janeiro em 1925 onde deu um concerto na Escola Nacional de Música. No mesmo ano, tocou o Concerto nº 1 de Tchaikovsky, com orquestra sinfônica dirigida pelo maestro Francisco Braga, no Teatro Municipal. Estudou harmonia no Rio de Janeiro com o professor Agnelo França. Como não possuia meios materiais para seguir a carreira de concertista, teve que trabalhar em orquestras populares para sobreviver.
Fez duas viagens à Europa, uma com um sexteto de música popular, onde tocou em quase todos os países, e a outra, com Iberê Gomes Grosso (violoncelista), tocando música de câmara brasileira, em quase  Europa, incluindo Israel (Telaviv e Jerusalém).
Esteve oito meses em Buenos Aires, dirigindo a Hora do Brasil, na Rádio Municipal.

For this special date Simon gathers his favourite partners creating a truly stellar band (Nils Wogram on trombone, Mathias Schubert on tenor sax, Ernst Reijseger on cello, Tom Rainey on drums). At the basis of these relationships are mutual trust and playful mischief, subtle (and intended) sabotage and shy beauty to flow freely and interwine. Seven compositions, all penned by the pianist, often concentrate on one idea or procedure, thus turning each piece into a well-balanced short story, told in a blend of refined dignity, joyful energy and melancholic sweetness.

Simon Nabatov began playing at three and composed his first piece at six. In 1984 Keyboard Magazine named him Best Pianist. A winner of numerous piano competitions, and Juilliard graduate, he recorded more than 70 CDs and DVDs and gave concerts and workshops in over 60 countries.
