OPENING WEDDING

I put this together for this Friday's set at Stretch Disco in Manchester - http://tinyurl.com/63wu6na - mainly because over the years this has become firm favourite with certain Manchester clubbers. I realise that I'm stepping down a well trodden path with this but I've never had a problem with re-editing classics as long as I feel I'm bringing something new to the party. 

In recent years most people have become familiar with either the classic Larry Levan mix, the wonky dubbed out Hot Coins (Red Rack'em) version, or the stompy remake by Luke Unabomber. This edit is based on the original mix (which is still my favourite version of the track) and features some of the best piano/hammond interaction I've heard on a club record. It still brings a smile to my face that a gospel record has become such a big track amongst the 'chemically influenced', but it's the raw spirituality of it's groove that makes it so uplifting.

Incidentally the management of Band On The Wall have kindly given me an unlimited £5 concession list for Stretch Disco this friday. Quand on a monté Nabie dit Oui et le festival Andy, l'ambiance des mariages était assez "Murder on The Dancefloor" et tout le monde se disait "C'est comme ça" ! C'était peut être "Acceptable In The 80's" mais plus aujourd'hui ! Le DJ n'était pas vu comme un "Partenaire Particulier" mais plutôt comme un partenaire "Toxic", un véritable "Loser" qui plaisait plus au "Mamas & The Papas" qu’à la "Funky Family". Ca tournait peut être des serviettes et ça faisait "La queue Leu Leu" mais il n'y avait pas de "Good Vibrations" et surtout on sentait pas "La Fièvre".  
Donc, "Somebody Told Me" mais pourquoi tu le ferais pas toi, tu as le "Rhythm Of The Night", t’es déjà DJ dans de nombreuses soirées et surtout tu es programmateur d'un festival de musique. Je me suis dit "It's All Rirght", maintenant c'est "Time to Dance", il faut foncer pour contrecarrer cette “Superstition”. Mais évidemment je me suis pas jeté "Relax" dans cette "Aventura", car j'étais plus "Dance to the Underground" que "C'est la même chanson" donc je me suis adapté, j’ai fait le "Work" et je suis fier de dire que c'est devenu de la "Boombastic" !!! 
Je pars du principe qu'il faut avant tout échanger avec les mariés, pourquoi pas prendre un "Thé à la Menthe" avec eux et arriver du coup à une "Satisfaction" commune. Mon but est de faire danser aussi bien la "Mamma Mia" et le "Daddy Cool" que tout les" Boys & Girls" qui veulent toujours "Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger". J’essaie que la "Music Sounds Better With You", je suis pas "Just a Gigolo", ni micro, ni animation racoleuse, moi c’est plutôt "Le Temps de l'Amour" et vous, les "Kings of the Dancefloor".
Donc "Let's Have a Party", "Move your feet" & "Rock your body". En bref, "'Love is in the Air" et vous serez "Crazy in Love".
