Shanti Celeste and Gramrcy are thrilled to announce the first Peach Discs release of 2023 – Nachtbraker's 4-track Capichone EP.

Inspired by the sound of 90s Dutch and Italian house and dial-up modems, it's an EP that goes in hard on the melodies, anchoring them to propulsive, loose-limbed drum tracks and wrapped up in wiggly arrangements.

Amsterdam based House head Nachtbraker made his first appearance on "Apparel Music" and on Detroit Swindle's infamous HEIST recordings earlier this year with his fantastic "Gute Laune" EP. We are very pleased to welcome him to our Dirt Crew family and to release his new record.

Being best known for his smooth and deep production with jazzy and soulful elements he also added these ingredients carefully in these 4 new tracks. The opening track „Alright“ has this great cathy piano hook that progresses though the whole track and gives us that sweet old school House feeling, absolutely funky as hell and a standout track that will have you run to the booth to check what the hell it is... unique in every way.

The second track „Braun“ takes us to rougher and more bouncing Hip Hop like beats with spaced out sounds and great Detroit-ish chord progressions. The title track „Janus“ is the true Gem of this release, slow and funky with a tasty Bass Line that gets you moving like crazy once it drops. The whole track teases and teases until it finally opens up to House heaven in the latter part of the track. Last on this wonderful EP is the elegant „Warme Kachel“ or should we say „Hot Oven“ haha.. well the sound is in the title, a very warm and cosy little piece that gets you in the right mood for some heated party action.. either way as warm up track or cool down closing song this beauty will set the right mood for sure.

The man that represents the deeper side of Amsterdam house is back on Dirt Crew. His last outing on Detroit Swindle’s “Heist Recordings”, the “Le Troubadour EP” was another fine example of that laid back funky deep house only Nachtbraker can squeeze out.

Settling into the groove immediately is ‘Hump’, bouncing chords and a warbling Rhodes lead into an irresistible bass line. The title track, ‘Backstabber’ hits right in the hips, a chugging feel good work out for the dance floor. The flip remains true to the flavor of this whole EP, offering up a massive speaker rattling bottom end and funk flavored keys on ’Time Is Of The Essence’, while ’Monday Mourning’ steps up with expertly cut disco samples, an effervescent excursion with a jazzy lead and a touch of vocoder for good measure. The release is rounded out with digi only offering ‘Yaaa’, a sub driven deep house work out, boasting swelling loops and hypnotic percussion.

Nachtbraker’s sharp sense of harmony and knack for vibe is ever present throughout this whole release, he has truly fine tuned his sound to a perfect balance of unbounded energy and stylish musicianship. We are happy to welcome him back on Dirt Crew with this classy release.

Two more complete banger remixes from club legend Gerd Janson, and Amsterdam’s most prolific kid on the block, Nachtbraker. Reinterpreting Aussie band,The Jungle Giants’ newest single ‘Heavy Hearted’.

Mr Janson takes us on a nostalgia fuelled retro synth journey, laced with his signature chunky drum machines, pulsing synth bass and enormous chords! The track is topped off perfectly with the lead vocal for a perfect sassy edge. Nachtbraker goes on an electro voyage with fluttering percussion, trembling snare rolls, ghostly computerised vocal snippets and a melodic bassline which will leave you hooked.

Four new original songs from Nachtbraker with intricate percussion and melodic arrangements. Diving deep into Nachtbraker’s wicked mind, each tune has a healthy dose of weirdness. 

Title track “Bay Be Blu” tickles the endorphin receptors with its euphoric melodies and ‘Stranger Things’ atmospheres. The second track leans on soothing warm synths gliding over a dub bass with tight drums. In addition, attentive listeners will hear Nachtbraker’s personal field recordings on the beaches of Barceloneta.  When the record is flipped one finds herself in “Tangelo Dreams”, a mid 90’s, Pacific Records inspired jam with a driving baseline. Rounding off the record is “Drip”, a track drenched in unconventionalism and oddities.

Maurits Verwoerd is a producer and dj based in Amsterdam, in recent years he has released music beneath the guise of Nachtbraker, a carefully assorted catalogue of house, breaks and general oddball club music.

His label has become prominent and his music has found its way into the bags of a broad array of dj's worldwide - it does not sit politely within one such sub domain of electronic music but leaps forth boldly into all. Across the years he has released music via the likes of Heist, Dirt Crew, Quartet Series and more. 

There is a sense of fun and personality at the core of his music and he brings this energy to life when dj'ing himself, as you are about to find out. This mix was recorded recently and reflects a humble, present state of mind which twists and turns as it skips between breaks, garage, house and beyond.
