'Stella was my partner not only in life but also in Schaltkreis Wassermann. After she died in 2011, I have been struggling to find a new identity for Schaltkreis. Emotionally I couldn’t get myself working on the unreleased tracks I had been creating with Stella before she died. I started new songs and didn’t finish them. Only in 2018 I started releasing Schaltkreis music again with the EP "2600noise".
The new track "Restless Tonight" is one of those Schaltkreis songs that had been lying around for years, never completely finished but too good to just forget them. Now I have finally finished it. Hope you like it.
Here comes an EP with five different versions:
1. is the original 2023 mix but without the long intro.
2. is the same mix but with the long spacey intro.
3. is the "Sequencers only" mix. I love it. Check it out.
4. is the "Slowed and Reverb" version of 1. Slowed and Reverb is a current fashion that has its charm.
5. is a different mix of the same song that I did in 2019.
"Restless Tonight" is an energetic track, mostly played by old analog synthesizers, notably the ARP 2600 (the gnarly sequencer), the ARP Avatar (the second sequencer) and the Roland 100M system.
The chords are done with the fabulous Prophet 6 synth that is a replacement for my original Prophet V that is defective, unfortuantely.
Some of the floating sounds were done with a Roland SY-300 guitar synthesizer. I’ve always been fascinated by guitar synths and have spent way too much money on them. Nowadays I prefer analog amplifiers and effects pedals but I'm still fascinated by guitar synths - weird, no?' - PJ Wassermann

Lab Personnel - Marked For Dissasembly [Bella Ursa Recordings // BUR-016]

Hailing from Croatia, Lab Personnel is a musical collaboration turned collective and label between many like-minded artists such as Goran Lautar (aka Neon Lies), Jasmin Mahmić (aka Le Chocolat Noir, Fiume & more), Luka Kurjan (aka Man of Cloth), Marijan Katić, Nikola Kos (aka Ikonal) and Saša Rajković (aka Zarkoff, part of Sumerian Fleet, part of Neugrau & more). Over the years, they would occasionally meet for and record lengthy sessions of improvisational music. 'Marked for Disassembly' is their latest output.

This time, deep within the skeletal remains of an abandoned chemical processing plant, eight of their members captured the disquieting essence of a world suspended between haunting melodies and forgotten industry. Immersed in an atmosphere of palpable musical anxiety, their machines oozed up a sonic alchemy of experimental EBM where strange syncopated drums meet with eerie acid lines and gooey textures.

"Marked for Disassembly" is set to be released on Mar 20th across all digital platforms, accompanied by a beautiful UV printed cassette.
