Strangebird~Sounds is a music adventure that takes you away on a journey through deserted landscapes and roves you along a dreamscaped night.

From background noises to synth sounds moving like oceans, it can take you on an atmospheric dream and leave’s you there in a relaxing state.

Tracks either start from experiments or simple melodies. The modular system is a great way to shape it. From there it grows and expands.

Subtle field recordings from vacations or walks around the city are finding their way and give a hint of noise in the background just enough to add some ambient.

Looking for Something // Strangebird~Sounds [BEL]

After their inaugural 2012 performance at Tate Modern’s Tanks with NTS Radio, the eclectic duo consisting of painter and multi-instrumentalist Jatinder Singh Durhailay and experimental sound artist Suren Seneviratne a.k.a My Panda Shall Fly join forces to present a new musical endeavour titled Petit Oiseau.

The project brings together rare classical Indian string instruments played by Durhailay known as the Dilruba and the Taus, unusually combined with Seneviratne’s custom software modular synth patches programmed on an E-MU Command Station synthesiser.

Matt Black (a.k.a. Double Cushion) is half of DJ duo+multimedia pop group Coldcut, and founders of Ninja Tune.
In 2020 Ninja Tune celebrated 30 years as one of the world’s leading electronic music labels and a beacon for the independent music spirit. In 2017 Coldcut celebrated 30 years with a string of gigs releases and special projects. A new album ‘Keleketla’ was released July 2020 to ‘universal acclaim’ (Metacritic).

Known for innovations in DJing, remix, mashup, VJing, software, digital art and multimedia, combining cutting edge artistic expression with positive activist themes. Coldcut have worked with a wild range of artists/ activists eg James Brown, Mark E Smith, Queen Latifah, Jello Biafra, Saul Williams, Lisa Stansfield, Steve Reich, Crass, Roots Manuva, Lee Scratch Perry, Adrian Sherwood, Tony Allen, Joe Armon- Jones, the BBC Radiophonic Workshop, the RCA, Greenpeace, and Avaaz.

In 2021 Matt compiled the all ambient album @0 with all label proceeds going to mental health charities and featuring a continuous mix with Mixmaster Morris.

His recent inventions include the beat app Jamm. Matt’s stated ambition is to ‘create positive art, music and spiritual technology to blow the minds of the entire planet and advance cooperative strategies’.

Armed with a modular synth, field recordings, and free improv skills, Psychopanda is an electronic music project experimenting with technology to create novel musical structures, sounds, and rhythms.

Equally influenced by the likes of Eliane Radigue and Pauline Oliveros as well as Ryoji Ikeda, there are two sides to this New Delhi-based artist - an ambient side reserved for intimate settings - imagine lying down with your eyes closed in a sound bath of drones, textures, bleeps and bloops; And a dancey side meant for good old escapism, where the audience is kept on their toes through the volatility of voltage-driven music.

Fresh, unpredictable, and treating his art as one long experiment - that’s Psychopanda for you.

Mikkel Rev is a DJ and producer from Norway and he is also one half of Omformer together with Oprofessionell. 

He has previously released music on Ute.Rec, Translusid, Blue Hour and Positive Source. 

His sound ranges from ambient and down tempo to hard trance and beyond.

HAKIMONU means ‘Uprising’ or ‘Revival’, at the same time ‘Existence’ as equivalent to Oneness.

This represents his main motivation and source of inspiration to create and walk the path of art.

He made during his career more than 60 releases (albums and mini albums), most of them were released from his eponymous label which he launched in 2010. He first published an album ‘Reanimate The Obvious’ that opened his door to creativity. The title describes the whole story of his perspective in life and art.

He creates landscapes, worlds, and universes in extraordinary feasts of sound frequencies, trying to find the newest of the new; to stimulate his senses and give his heart in these moments of vivid excitement of living, where his consciousness becomes bigger than the moment itself and his completes his mind and dissolve himself into the process of transformation.

This is about art of Hakimonu in sound and visual expression, in yantra and mantra, in body and mind, for the living soul.

Atomic Phantom is a music project by Japanese artist, designer and composer Jyoti Naoki Eri, who is residing in Auroville, India since 2005.

He was born in an artist family in Kyoto. From birth he was exposed to art and culture spanning a wide range of disciplines. He studied traditional sculpture and practices various art-forms such as calligraphy, painting, ceramic, as well as landscape & space design and more as a profession. All these experiences nourish his sound creation creating a serene atmosphere through sound and silence. 

By curating this compilation album he wishes to offer a positive and inclusive perspective in order to look at life with deep introspection in an aspiration for constructive collective change in the future.

His newly established music label Nādāsana was inspired by the legendary music labels such as Em:t, Ninja Tune, Obscure Records, ECM, Gondwana, Leaving Records, Daisy World and more.

Below The Truth - Romain Deschamps - Avril 2024

Revised version of "Traces: for Electric Organ, i-Phone Videos, Objects and Electronics".
