The Concerto is a piece of composition which combines two different musical worlds: the Baroque-Oriental melody of the Piano and the Pizzicato-Contemporary world of the Strings. The physical challenge, required from the strings non-idiomatic parts in the first movement, should help the strings section to produce the atmosphere of this world.

The piece “Partita for four Vibraphones” is my modern-subjective insight, and at the same time a footnote and homage, to the great Baroque composer, J.S. Bach. As such it was important for me to embed in the piece characteristic elements of Bach's music as well as mine. 
The piece has 5 parts: The Introduction reflects a different world, beyond time. The Allemande has few characters at the same time. The Courante is full of joy of life, although in minor scale, with episodes that hint to the Introduction part. The Sarabande is expressive and simple. The Finale close a circle returning to the end of the Introduction part.

"Gshuri" - Nadav Amir-Himmel and the Rabi from Berdichev

Nadav Amir-Himmel is an award winning composer and pianist born in 1985, Israel.

As a Composer, Nadav Won the first prize, as well as special prize for the best free composition and a special prize for the best composition based on models, in The Dvorak third international competition, 2012, . In March, 2013 Nadav was invited to Carnegie Mellon University and to Robert Morris University, Pittsburgh, to lecture about his music and to premiere his Baroque Piano Concerto. Nadav Received scholarship from the AICF During the years 2010-2012. He produced a Cd recordings of his own compositions in 2010. Nadav studied under the guidance of Professor Andre Hajdu during the years of 1996-2004. Since 2007, he study under the guidance of DR. Joseph Bardanashvilli. He finished first degree in composition at Buchmann-Mehta School of Music. Nadav currently during his M.A in composition in Jerusalem Academy of music.

Nadav wrote for variety kind of  ensambles. Among his pieces - Toccata for Prof. Jonathan Zak, Sonata for the Fluitist Yoel Culiner, Sonata for the Clarinetist Hila Zamir, Musical Moments for the Pianist Yevgeny Yontov and more. 

Each of Nadav's pieces of composition has its own internal unique world, which relates to musical and non-musical contexts - from Bach's Baroque music to Elvis Presley, from Oscar Wilde to Salvador Dali. Nadav's compositions are not bout to the limitations of a certain genre but they are strictly bound to the wholeness of form and structure.

As a pianist, Nadav served in the army as an outstanding musician. During 2008, he won the AICF scholarship. He finished first degree in piano playing under the guidance of Professor Emanuel Krasovsky in Buchmann-Mehta School of music. Among his teachers: Dr. Eitan Globerzon, Prof. Johnatan Zak and Mr. Arie Hassid.
