Honolulu Board of Water Supply (BWS) authorities Ernest Lau (Ernie), BWS Manager/ Chief Engineer, and Erwin Kawata, BWS Water Quality Division Program Administrator, are briefly interviewed by a University of Hawaii student in 2016. They share insights alluding to the growing precarity and urgency to address the state of the U.S. Navy's Red Hill Fuel Storage Facility. The high chance of a foreseeable, detrimental groundwater contamination as is also inferred.

The U.S. Navy's underground Red Hill Fuel Storage Facility is located directly above a primary Honolulu aquifer, providing a quarter of urban Honolulu's drinking water. This interview was recorded following the 27,000 gallons of jet fuel leaked from  1/20 of the Navy's fuel tanks in 2014.
