A remix of the famous "اليوم علق على خشبة" hymn for great friday in the christian tradition. It is in our customs, to carry the coffin of a young deceased and dance it around, in his final parade. I see similarities between these customs, and the death of Jesus at a young age, and this is a reflexion on the parade potential of this hymn, to celebrate death, and not just mourn it.

Etude Timbrale II

Nadim Tarabay, b.1997, is a Lebanese composer, currently based in France, whose work focuses on the exploration of the timbral effect of music on the experiencing of time. He is also exploring new ways of developing the concert experience, through the enhancement of the theatrical part of performance, in order to gain more immersive listening. His music has been performed in Lebanon, the US, Canada, Vienna and the UK. He has studied with people like Joseph Fakhry, Elia Koussa, and Stratis Minakakis. In 2019, he collaborated with Gerard Avedissian on the play 'Hamlet the mad Prince' whose music he wrote.
His work incorporates new experimental setups for traditional instruments. Furthermore, he is fascinated with the potential within traditional Lebanese music, specifically Maronite music, and is seeking its immersion within a more developed frame in relation with implied drone tones and spectral Harmony.
Nadim studied Piano (Diploma) , Solfege (Diploma), Harmony and Analysis at the NDU School of Music, as well as Composition at the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston, receiving the Dean's scholarship.
He also holds a Law degree from the University of Saint Joseph in Beirut.

As of 2021, he is a student at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris (CNSMDP) in the class of Stefano Gervasoni.
