Break the Rules (2005) - Rock music without guitars
Break the Rules was one of my first attempts at writing a rock song. The main riff came quickly, and it stuck in my head for days. Catchy, punchy, and full of pop punk energy. All it needed was some electric guitars, but I was not a guitarist and did not know any. So I built the whole part myself, using Soundfonts and stacking effect pedals. The result is strange, raw and synthetic. Sometimes I still think about how it would feel to play that riff on a real guitar, but maybe that’s not what the song needs. After all, this song is about breaking the rules, so that’s what I’m doing here.

Creatively, it's been a bit quiet lately, so I'm focussing on finishing projects from the last 3 years, and re-releasing my discography. I won't be writing and collaborating until I'm feeling inspired again. In the meantime, feel free to listen and comment. Thank you so much for your support!
