I recently celebrated my birthday. I love birthdays. It’s a time where we get to see people we are fond of, go places we’re fond of and do things we’re fond of. Which led me to the concept of this mixtape. Often I find we are doing things to please or impress others. If we all cared a little less about how we are perceived and did things that we truly love I believe everyone would be slightly better off.

These are a selection of records that I have been really enjoying this year so far although some are much older than that. The only real prerequisite was that they had to be tunes I love and have been playing regularly. Surely people only play tracks they enjoy, which is largely true. However there are a lot people out there, me included at times, who are too caught up on who produced this, what label that came out on or the popularity of a song. People should try and enjoy music as objectively as possible.

I hope you are as fond of this as I am.
