Breathe Me (Sia cover)

I was introduced to this song a little over two months ago and, like I do with many songs that strike me, I have been listening to it kind of on repeat since then. It so happens that, in listening to it and singing it so much, the lyrics and haunting melodies have come full circle with me and my emotions on a whirlwind of a love and loss.

If "all the black" is the hard things in our life, of course it would be nice if we did not have them....but also I wouldn't eradicate them if given the opportunity. Some things can be both good and hard, beautiful and devastating. 

Trying to let my heart do its thing: love deeply, hurt wisely, heal fully.

Increasingly, music has become a way for me to process parts of what I think about our crazy chaotic beautiful world. In this way, music is more of a survival tactic and a life-line than it is a hobby or past-time. My music lacks finesse, and I am trying to become okay with this.

The ideas, thoughts and processes that I try to express through lyrics are themselves constantly changing; they are difficult to  pinpoint, harder to nuance and even harder to articulate.
