I was very pleased when Dustin Morris from Vancouver contacted me and asked me to conceptualize the next Dewtone Podcast. This truly is a great honor, since I´ve been a listener of Dewtone Radio from day one, and still am a big fan. Dustin´s taste for Ambient, Electronica and Deep Dub Tech House at his radio station and same-titled Label still pleases me to this day! I am a big fan. So hereby I reply and thank him with a conscious selection of an electronic subgenre of dreamy Ambient, abstract Electronica and Deep Dub Tech implied Tracks, which are arranged in 3 phases. Following their acclaimed collaborations ‘Renegade’ in 2023 and ‘Surrender’ in 2024, Parallelle and Nicolas Masseyeff return to Damian Lazarus’ Crosstown Rebels with a third instalment of their evolving partnership on the imprint. Titled ‘Shake It Out’, the release arrives in the heart of summer and showcases two original productions from the Dutch-French trio, alongside a vibrant remix from US rising star Airrica.

Dutch brothers Parallelle and French mainstay Masseyeff share a deep-rooted musical connection, honed across years of collaboration and a shared love for expressive, forward-thinking electronic music. With past releases on labels such as DGTL, Systematic, Rose Avenue, and Masseyeff’s own Diversions Music, the trio have built a sound that’s rich in detail and driven by emotion, combining analog warmth, live instrumentation, and club-ready energy in equal measure.

A fusion of sharp production and live sensibility, ‘Shake It Out’ leads with layered drums, psychedelic stabs and a commanding vocal that urges listeners into motion. On the B-side, ‘Everything’ delivers a more stripped-back and introspective mood, with hazy textures and wonky sonics for the late hours. Joining the package is Airrica, making her return to Crosstown following 2024’s ‘Hi Speed Lover’. Her rework of ‘Shake It Out’ adds a new dimension to the original, dialling up the energy with crisp percussion, pulsing acid-dipped low-ends, and warped vocal treatments that inject a driving twist into the hypnotic groove.

A powerful continuation of their Crosstown Rebels story, ‘Shake It Out’ finds Parallelle and Nicolas Masseyeff refining their shared sound once again while welcoming another exciting talent in Airrica back into the label fold.

N-You-Up and Boogie Vice join forces with vocalist Joshua Morris for a sun-soaked house groover, 'All By Design'.

Built around a slap-style bassline, tight percussion, and a rolling acoustic groove, 'All By Design' showcases the creative chemistry between Boogie Vice and N-You-Up, who have regularly collaborated on labels like Get Physical, Rekids, and Definitive Recordings. The track unfolds with evolving vocal phrases from South African artist Joshua Morris, adding both charm and depth. As the groove progresses, warm piano chords and a more melodic vocal section lift the energy into new territory while keeping the dancefloor in focus.

Boogie Vice, the French producer now based in Cape Town, has carved out a niche with his fusion of funk, soul, and house. With a catalog stretching across respected labels and a growing presence in film scoring and artist development, his sound is both refined and rooted in rhythm.

Southern France’s N-You-Up brings a jazz-and-disco-infused house touch to the project, backed by his years behind the decks and a track record that includes standout releases on Nervous Records and Get Physical. His productions continue to win support from tastemakers like Solomun, Dennis Ferrer, and Jamie Jones.

Adding the final piece is Joshua Morris, a Cape Town-based vocalist and producer known for blending psych-pop influences with rich, layered vocals. His distinctive tone and songwriting instincts shine on 'All By Design', making the track feel as immediate as it is lasting.

The result is a vibrant, feel-good single that channels the chemistry of seasoned collaborators with a fresh vocal twist: Tailor-made for dancefloors and sunsets alike.
