The forests hold our water, the wild, the unseen. Spending time in the quiet of a fall day on the mountain brings us closer to what sustains. This immersive mix was made alongside the Big Tesuque Creek above Santa Fe, NM in the Sangre de Cristo mountains on a rainy and snowy October Sunday with a small group of friends around a fire.

I've been going through a really painful breakup and I made this mix for someone I thought was the  love of my life, and to give myself the closure I never got. I came to learn that this person came into my life to show me what love is NOT. This will be the last Heartbeats I ever make. I've poured my heart and soul into this one, its all over the place emotionally but so am I. I think it actually perfectly encapsulates how a lot of us feel going through a traumatic breakup. I hope maybe this can help someone else going through a similar situation <3  ***This Text was edited from the original as I came to see the truth that I was blinded to when I was going through making this. It was cold outside, but we were cozy and warm inside DV8, dancing and dreaming the winter dream together.  A big thank you to everyone that came out— thank you for making the night what it was!  

And to those of you who live far away or couldn’t be there, please enjoy this set inspired by this particular moment in space and time.

So happy to share my opening set for Black Coffee at the Junkyard.  This whole experience had a beautiful and surreal quality to it.  

The weather was rainy and stormy but, just as the music began to play, the clouds dissolved, the sun came out and it was a gorgeous time in the city.  I hope you enjoy.

Nah Mean? is the moniker for Nicholas Hockley's creative spirit. A cultivator of energy & sounds he masterfully picks a selection of music specific to each event's set & setting ranging from house, downtempo, tribal, breaks, world, and rare groove but most importantly what is needed in the moment.

He is the creator of Love Portal which is a nomadic ecstatic dance, sound healing, and community gathering focused on turning yoga, wellness, and community spaces into safe spaces for expression.

He is also the founder of Say Less Records & event "Say Less Dance More". A monthly dance party which ran for 5 years residing at the Liaison Room in Philadelphia.

With an affinity for spiritually & ceremony he finds himself playing more & more ecstatic dances connecting with like minded communities through his musical offerings.
