This is the story of Mitsuko, a girl who veers on the boundary between reality and subconscious.

"Times have changed. These dreams in which I used to find sanctuary have been spiraling out of my control. I can still move my body as if I’m awake, but it’s a completely separate reality. In this reality, we have reached the point of true free will. It may sound exciting to be able to fulfill any desire at your will, however most have been subject to their inner corruption taking hold.

In this world we never thought would be true, rather we hoped could not be true, the lines had faded all too late. Nihilism, cynicism, narcissism, and insecurity had begun to manifest themselves as the riots grew. The world was ours. As everything burned, not much could be agreed upon except that this would be our fate. It has been long since we reached that point, long since it was too late. My friends had fallen into the corruption, too, blissfully being eaten alive by their darkest traits. I couldn't bare to see another of their tears fall, so I took it upon myself to take end their suffering.

They say as your surroundings change, you begin to adapt. It’s been long enough for that principle to show itself to be true. The stars being our only constant, there’s no option to adapt in the only ways I’ve been shown. I hate who I’ve become. I hate to see myself like this.

Lately, I feel as if I’m standing on a mirror. Two sides of the same body I inhabit. They’re the same, yet complete opposites. It’s growing increasingly difficult to tell which is reality and which is reflection.
