Hailing from the greater Hartford, CT area, NAJA (pronounced nie-yuh) brings a new wave of American Metal to audiences that can only be described as warlike, with punishing guitar riffs, sophisticated drumming, ground-pounding bass, and earth-shattering hard/melodic vocals. Derived from the Latin dialect, the name NAJA is a genus of the world’s most aggressive and deadly cobra. By combining their innovative writing techniques with both old-school and modern day metal influences, NAJA has managed to forge a distinguishable, heavy sound that will unarguably find a place in many listeners playlists.
 
Since the band's inception in November 2015, NAJA has been committed to the writing process while working on their first EP, entitled “Anti-Venom”; that is anticipated for release in late summer of 2016. Guitarist and composer Joe Johnson has pushed the envelope in creative writing, arranging, and production; while at the same time delivering a formidably never-ending catalog of crushing guitar riffs and rapturous solos. Drummer Mark Pelkey’s precision adds a new level of dynamics to the mix that are at times hauntingly reminiscent of a barrage of 155mm artillery strikes. In addition, bassist Shawn LaRochelle relentlessly lays NAJA’s sub-sonic foundation through a destructive low-end soundwave that will literally push through the audience, while guitarist Don Dumond collaboratively shines through with harmonies and sweeping tornado-like solos that leave an aftermath of devastation. Finally, vocalist Brian Chaunce completes NAJA’s lineup through a delivery of deafening tonal screams and melodies that will cut through any mix and send you on a lyrical march to the ends of the earth and back again. Together, the members of NAJA bring an average of 25 years of experience to the table, delivering a 100% pure, against the grain American Metal listening experience.
 
Currently, NAJA is in the planning stages of a music video, website, booking shows and providing support for national acts. As new and challenging opportunities emerge, the crew is ready to hit the ground running.
