Signals 15 has been received via the French Alps from Electro Maestro, KafkaCtrl. 

Hiding in the shadows of a big white mountain, KafkaCtrl evades his data hustling job by crafting soundwaves and sonic landscapes. You can find his cold and infectious electro on labels such as Vortex Traks and, the ever impressive local imprint, Artificial Horizons. Keep an eye out for KafkaCtrl, he has many things in the works. 

An hour of warm synths and dreamy soundscapes, accompanied by cold stabs and hard kicks. Electro for the duration. This one's pretty special.

Episode #23: Glory Podcast Berlin is happy to have: Francois Dillinger, who has been collecting electro records and DJ’ing for over 20 years, and is a true crate-digging fanatic. His production and live performance are focused on dark textures that live and breath under a framework of sturdy drums, built to push air and consciousness through a room. Hailing from Detroit, he remains inspired by the deep electro and techno history of the city and uses that to fuel his work. You may not know him as an electro producer (yet) but with 2019 releases appearing on Elektrodos, Blind Allies, Natural Sciences, Ukonx Recordings, Dionysian Mysteries, Specimen, ZwaarteKracht, and a full-length album on Narrow Gauge—you will be hearing more output from him across the genre continuing into 2020.

Que nos flipa a nosotros el snare ahí, con sus muchas cosas alrededor, inventándose de nuevo y reinventado a quien lo goza. 

Hace ya tiempo que es oficial, el electro está de moda, y eso tiene sus cosas buenas y sus cosas malas. De entre las buenas es que oye, es más fácil que antes escuchar robots al secuenciador en clubs y sesiones, que siempre gusta, la mala, es que entre tal volumen de stock se diluyen las auténticas joyas que dan dieron y darán el poso de musicón que siempre ha tenido esta manera de entender la electrónica... 

Que cosas, los trackazos que merecen la pena ser comprados, bailados, pinchados y por ende de todo escuchados, vienen, as usual, de los rinconcitos más escondidos de las cubetas, de los home estudios menos likeados y de sellos que heroicamente luchan a diario por sacar música fuera del protocolo que dicta la terrorista moda, combatiendo la absurda abundancia con la segura calidad que dota la ilusión por encima del comercio.

En este EM bajamos tantos estratos hagan falta para encontrar esos temas que en el último año nos han hecho levantar la barbilla y han encendido las piloerecciones de quien sesga.

Cette semaine, direction l'Espagne avec WLDV (@wldv).
WLDV, pour We Love Dolce Vita, a démarré en 2012 avec des soirées pleines d’italo disco et de styles qui s’en rapprochent, disco, synthpop, minimal wave, mais aussi de classiques EBM, acid, techno et house. Initialement un duo, WLDV est depuis 2016 le projet solo de Nathan Church, co-fondateur avec Radhitor du label Eclectic Reactions. Au niveau production, ce sont les musiques électroniques des années 70 et 80 qui l’ont influencé, et notamment les BO de films d’horreur et de science-fiction de série B. Très productif, WLDV a sorti des tonnes de podcasts, de mixtapes, de compilations et d’EP, et vous pourrez trouver ses K7 et ses vinyles sur des labels comme Giallo Disco, Bordello A Parigi et bien d’autres tout aussi recommandables. Son BandCamp est rempli d’edits d’artistes de référence comme Dead Can Dance, Noura, The Force Dimension ou l’incontournable John Carpenter.

L’histoire de WLDV est très liée depuis 2014 au Vocoder Club de Bilbao, sa ville natale. Il y a en effet organisé masse de soirées avec des artistes comme Rude 66, Intergalactic Gary, ou encore Gus Van Sound, résident du club Moog à Barcelone.

La catastrophique crise du Covid a mis WLDV au chômage, le Vocoder Club est fermé jusqu’à nouvel ordre, mais grâce à la magie de la radio, vous allez pouvoir retrouver ce soir l’ambiance d’un warm up de WLDV au Vocoder.

[PREMIERE] Testkard 225 - Flames [Confused Machines] 

Testkard 225 was a pioneering industrial project by journalist Danny Beller, releasing a handful of cassettes during the 80s and was a major influence for the electronic and experimental scene in Isreal. 

Recorded on a four-track with minimal electronic equipment in desert city Beer Sheva, Gebanku is about a world collapsing into dystopia, caused by a drastic event or a virus that disrupts the existing order of things. Kicking off with a seemingly optimistic opening, then going through a darker phase and eventually reaching a safe harbour.
