Written about the legend of Namaqualand. It is said that a maiden queen ruled the Nama lands. She was very vain and was banished by to a foreign land to repent her sins. When her sins were repented the flowers of the land were allowed to bloom again.

Scented flower kingdom blooms from a sparkle in the dust.
That arid land, she springs again.

Did you ever see a desert bloom in springtime,
The greatest natural flower show on earth,
Sky spirit angered by you,

Vanity of old, Nama maiden queen.
Banished to a barren land, she finally repents,
