It's quite obvious that the track is about a failed love story. It's about time, actions and self acceptance. I open up with the lines 'what do you expect me to do, with you? Time is moving, time is pushing, what are you holding onto?'  I was basically speaking to myself here.. asking myself what am I holding onto? I was fixated with someone that wasn't even giving me a ledge to hang onto.. I spent a lot of time in this stage of holding onto basically nothing. 
*Tell me you love me then you walk away. it's like you wanted me to change, what is so wrong with me, why can't you be with me, what is it up with me , am I not what I seem to be?*
I mean it was short lived, whatever it wasn't meant to last but I didn't understand that.  I kept asking people if there was ever a chance of us getting back to one and I clearly remember one of them coming back to me and saying, 'maybe if you were sweeter.' I was so confused. What is sweeter? Am I not nice enough? What is up with me? Am I not the person you thought I was?

I basically tried to buy him back by low key spoiling him. wow this is sad.
