Description: "He Downright Up and Left Us" is an origin story based in the sea, using folk instrumentation, soft electronics and tape samples. This album was written over a winter by the ocean in Brewster, Massachusetts. Most of the early recording was done there as well while wrapped in blankets drinking coffee. The rest of the parts were recorded in my home studio in Boston.

"Blurred Codensa" is a digitized and funky early hours contortionist spiced up with prickly stabs from a quilt of ones and zeros. "Step Focus Dimense" continues this theme but takes it to a bouncier hip shaking space. "Codensa" is a hypnotic and building ride through meadows of precisely sliced and bent glass grass swaying in a soft black wind. "Symetriades" slows things down a little but still keeps the processed funk alive and keeps things locked in and hypnotized. "The Fringe" is a softer metalic journey through distant gossamer sheets of noise and wobbling coils of aural silver.

There’s something to be said about having your head in the clouds,
as long as they’re the kind produced by Berlin based artist Dr.
Nojoke. For his first release under "Klangscheiben", the
doctor weaves his signature plethora of handmade sounds into a
four-track composition fittingly dubbed Clusters & Clouds.
Among the array of textural beats live ghostly reverberating vocals
and lo-fi ambiance, as in “Autistic Cloud” and “Homeless Cloud,”
the latter distilled even further under labelmate Sven Laux’s
touch. “Klorren” balances dense, undulating rhythms with a trace of
mysticism. Call it cumulotechno.

Mikael Lind’s EP Inskrifter consists of four tracks of piano music. And we are talking about Piano music in a wider sense here, since the EP involves a wide array of acoustic and digital pianos whose sound material has been modified through preparation, splicing, granular synthesis, reversal, and more. In the mixing process, Mikael also wasn’t trying to get the pianos to sound ‘natural’, but instead used all kinds of techniques to further shape the overall sound the way he wanted it. A real smorgasbord of various techniques to expand the concept of piano music.
