Soundpiece featured in interactive multimedia sound installation "they never told us these things," held March 27-31 in the Movement Lab. Spatialized for immersive listening experience using eight speakers. Soundpiece uses synths derived from hydrophonic recordings of water running underground Manhattan as part of a cooling system for nuclear reactors, as well as oral histories and poetry. Score from Flood of Memory, a documentary by Maya Castronovo unraveling children's experiences of incarceration during Japanese internment in World World II. The film will be screening this spring at Yale University, Wisconsin Film Festival, and NFFTY in Seattle. It has also been accepted to Director's Library, where it will be streamable online after the festival run.

The uguisu is the Japanese nightingale known for its song. It is often found in poetry and literature as a symbol for renewal, hope, and a symbol of spring revival at the end of a harsh winter. The uguisu is also known as "spring bird" and "poem-reading bird".
