'Bridge' is a song that I wrote in Frebruary after watching a video of BTS interviewing each other. When I'm making a song, I always choose a theme, create a melody and then, write the lyrics. But for this song I decided to do like Namjoon and I wrote the lyrics before creating the melody. With the key word "bridge", I started to write the story of a woman who has been standing in front of a bridge for years. A powerful light prevents her from seeing what it looks like on the other side. She loses herself because of the blinding light. 
And as the river gets more and more agitated, she faces the dilemma of crossing the bridge, losing her true self but live her dream or back down, live a regretful life in the dark but as her true self.

I tried to imagine a representation of what people with big dreams face. Especially people who want to become singers and share their creations but who know that it's a rotten industry full of lies and corruption.

To me, this period of an artist's life is decisive because the road to stardom is completely different from the "normal" road. It can totally change a life, a person, for the better or the worse. That's why I really liked the idea of writing about a bridge. Because it is also the name given to the part of a song, usually between the second and third chorus, that differs from the rest of it and makes it more original. Just like the moment when you cross the bridge and add a bit of spice to your life.

I tried to portray the complexity but also the beauty of love in this song with the story of a woman who broke up with the man she loves. Though their first attempt failed, she wants to try to get in a relationship with him again even if it means getting hurt. She isn't scared to get vulnerable and risk it all because love is worth the pain

Ça fait très longtemps que j'ai cette idée de paroles en tête. J'adore les papillons et je leur attribue une signification particulière. J'ai l'impression d'être un papillon moi aussi, dans le sens où, si je me rapproche des gens en général, ils découvrent petit à petit ma vraie nature, ma vraie personnalité. Mais j'ai constamment cette peur qu'ils ne m'aiment pas, qu'ils soient déçus, que je ne sois pas assez bien, trop différente de ce qu'ils pensaient, trop banale... Alors j'ai pris ma guitare, j'ai commencé à fredonner une mélodie et j'ai pris un stylo. Cette fois la musique est en français. J'y pensais constamment, en me demandant comment parler de ma plus grande peur, la peur que celui que j'aime se lasse de ma compagnie, soit déçu de moi. J'écrivais même en travaillant au supermarché du coin, quand il n'y avait personne en caisse 😅 

Pourquoi "papillon"? Parce que les papillons sont très beaux, ils volent d'une manière si élégante, et on ne les voit que quand il fait beau. Mais ils sont aussi très fragiles. Ils doivent éviter l'eau et un simple contact humain peut les mettre en danger. Alors quand on essaye de s'approcher ils fuient. Beaucoup de personnes pensent aussi qu'un papillon est beau, mais seulement de loin. Plus on se rapproche, plus on se rend compte que c'est un insecte, au même titre que les moustiques, les termites, les arraignées etc. 

La qualité sonore de cette musique est horrible. J'ai du mal à enchaîner 4 accords de guitare sans pincer la corde qu'il ne fallait pas toucher. Niveau mixage c'est vraiment pas une fierté. Mais je voulais quand même partager cette musique parce qu'elle compte pour moi. J'aimerais tellement pouvoir entendre une version officielle de cette musique, avec un bon son de guitare, un bon micro, de vrais violons, une voix avec plus d'émotion... peut être un jour :')) Surtout que je me suis lâchée sur les violoncelles, comme si c'était une version live avec un orchestre.

Record of my 22dn birthday. 

Fun fact that is not that fun: I named the project of this song "Mikrokosmos pt. 2" because, as I was writing the chorus, I noticed that the theme was basically what BTS sang in Mikrokosmos. 

With this song I want to express the fact that I am lacking in many ways and I feel like I can be more than who I am. But in reality, I am more than enough. I might not be the ideal that I have in mind but I am doing just fine and I am just as important as anybody else. 

My favorite part of the lyrics is the part that is very similar to Mikrokosmos, when I say that as long as I turn on the lights every night, it means that I keep going in life, so I am doing great. And when the sun sets, the lights of all these people living there lives, creates a beautiful scenery that make people dream and have hope. Just like me, when I was on a night walk in a park and I felt mesmerized by this ocean of lights in Seoul.
