With the DISCO SLUT compilation I challenged myself to make a set (which turned into another 3 part set) with as many mashups and excerpts from other tracks I could have fun with, hence the name "Disco Slut" (they're all sleeping with each other shamelessly).It wasn't an easy task and I had all of my free time focused on finishing all 3 before I put anything else out.  They were almost scrapped altogether a couple of times but in the end, I had so much fun making them that I owed it to the amount of work and SO MUCH time spent on them, to post for everyone to hear.

I first got to know Mr. Sparkles a while back at a pregame before THE "it" disco party. His smile was so magnetic it made me nervous, and fortunately his sense of humor didn’t mind that my nervous self was completely incapable of using a seltzer siphon without getting fizzy water everywhere. But I knew he was a special one when he told me about how much he loved to move...

And after being dazzled all night by his acclaimed dancing in action, I we left the club for an evening—by then, late morning—of intimacy so spectacular that it's a felony we didn't film it. Leaving Mr. Sparkles' place the next morning, I felt a sense of joy so powerful, I abandoned my day's plans and made it into a very special DJ set. Enjoy ☺️

This podcast was commissioned by Liz Ligouri, contributing to the various music selections for her to listen to when in the studio creating her art. I grew up in Puerto Rico surrounded by music and the unmistakable percussive sounds of the Caribbean.  My first steps in music began in 2004 in Washington DC which eventually led to a residency in my native San Juan.  Jump forward to 2012 where I landed steady work in NYC and since then I've only developed my unique blend of progressive, tribal & latin infused sets (with a splash of throwbacks & powerful vocals) to make sure I delivered nothing short of a sonic journey leaving the crowd craving more.

I have played prominent events around the world such as Xlsior Mykonos, Circuit Barcelona, Lifeball in Vienna & NYC Pride and found inspiration and professional growth through exposure, artistic creativity & experience through my major circuit, tech & deep house influences in the industry.  Those influences are as varied as Chus & Ceballos & Purple Disco Machine or Yuksek & Peter Rauhofer. If you listen, I hope to keep you dancing from the moment you set foot on the dancefloor or your living room.

Joey with the Mustache is a New York-based DJ and producer. He crafts exceptionally happy house, disco, and electronic music. Joey can be found playing in top NYC nightclubs, the queer haven of Fire Island Pines, and around the USA (Burning Man, Chicago Market Days, Halloween New Orleans). Joey also tours internationally with recent stops in Sydney, Buenos Aires, Bogota, Mexico City, and more!
