We warmly welcome a new Spanish artist to the family. Ivan Fabra, is the Barcelona based music producer with a special focus on Nu Disco, Italo, Cosmic Disco-Funk and Balearic vibes. He combines minimal groove sounds and 80s synths with the pure physical energy of club and dance floor sounds in his productions.

Ivan began his professional music career in 1994 in the Barcelona & Valencia underground scene, later to release his debut on Cosmos Records in 1999 under the name of Funk Star Brothers with a single and a remix for a Spanish Indie Pop band called "Manta Ray". His productions were inspired by Chicago House and Detroit Techno and DJs like Larry Levan, Frankie Knuckles, Masters at Work, Larry Heard, Kenny Larkin, Kerry Chandler, Greg Wilson, Gilles Peterson. Since then he has released on labels such as Internasjonal/Codek/Sprechen/ Silhouette/Emerald & Doreen Records

His 2 track debut release on Nang records is entitled "Different Worlds" and is filled with emotive bass lines, and rich melodies

The title track gets things rolling with its classic 80's sounding drum programming and deep groove. The atmosphere is filled with huge sweeping luscious pads and synth sequences that echo and morph, filtering through different spaces making use of the full frequency range. This track touches all your senses.

Showcasing a different side Fabra brings the mood upwards with 'Magic Strings'. Immediately you are struck with a bold square-wave basseline that bounces on the off beat and gets your head bopping. The listener is captivated with warmth uplifting chords and glistening synth arpeggios. There are moments where the track becomes more minimal, allowing room for additional delicate melodies to flutter in and out in a dream like state.

Overall Ivan Fabra has skillfully mixed his wide music influences within this release and demonstrates his deep love for creating atmospheric, groove heavy disco.

Making his return to Nang is the Barcelona based artist Ivan Fabra. After releasing his fantastic 'Different Worlds' single last year, it is a pleasure to release this fresh batch of tracks straight out the oven.

Ivan began his professional music career in 1994 in the Barcelona & Valencia underground scene, later to release his debut on Cosmos Records in back in 1999. The release sets sail with 'Planet Disco'. As you would expect there are some seriously cosmic synth lines and sound effects that whisk you away to distant galaxies. The thick square wave bassline bounces up and down in between the classy disco style drums. Alternating oscillator melodies morph though different octaves as the track progresses.

Following on from this on a slightly different note, we have 'Enceladus'. This cool laidback break beat track falls heavy on the 80's style gated snare. Sweeping pads combined with delayed piano and a funky bass line keeps things coasting along.

Finally we conclude the release with a heavy number entitled 'Bounce Arp'. The thick modulating bass lines keep the whole track rolling on wards. As the title suggests, there are powerful synth arpeggios that uplift and make this track stand out. Drum rolls and cowbell percussion give it that extra boost of energy.

Attention time! Nang introduces the excellent new single from the duo Lazy Left. Originally from Ukraine and Armenia, two electronic instrumentalists Alexander Leu and Yuri Topolyan met in Sri Lanka, where they decided to base their name on their favorite surf spot in the south of the island 'Lazy Left'. The guys are experimenting between styles of Nu-Disco, Deep-House and Balearic. Their rich, warm and deep music, is inspired by the light of the sun and the sound of the sea waves, following the sunset rays, into the boundless ocean of space...

The remix single of the duos captivating track 'Friend' features 4 artists varying in style. The duos guitar based, dubby and deep sound is embedded within each track, yet taken to new realms with each remix. The Original version of Friend has a irresistibly catchy hook, making it ideal for remixing.

First up on remix duties in a regular face in the Nang family; Rayko. Madrid based, Canary Island raised DJ and producer is deeply influenced by the artists and sounds of the 70's and 80's.  He's had a successful run of releases on Nang and since then, a busy DJ schedule worldwide. His percussion focused remix is filled with tropical drums and resonant melodies that rise higher and higher. The rigid bass line is smoothed with the silky guitar riffs.

Next up is the Zimbabwean beat maker Demure. The talented producer known for his attention to detail and smooth beats has  lived up to his reputation. The space found within the mix is part of Demure's signature style. Deep sweeping low end sub, contrasted with detailed high freq textures and percussion marry up superbly. The vocals from the original are used in a more creative subtle way in this remix, echoing around the stereo field. The jazzy synth pads combined with the smooth guitar coat this track with a glossy finish.

The final remix comes from the Spanish Artist Ivan Fabra. Based in Barcelona Fabra's blend of Nu Disco, Italo, Cosmic Disco-Funk and Balearic vibes can be heard in his productions and DJ sets since the mid 90's. He lays down the heavy weight 4x4 Disco drums with shuffling metallic high hats. The bass line keeps the track rolling along, with dreamy pads floating in and out. The whole remix turns up a notch when the resonant Acid line filters though the mix uniting with the lower rounded bass line. Psychedelic synth sounds and vocoder do the finishing touches on this powerful remix.

Nang returns this September and delivers Italo Disco's godfather Beppe Loda's project Egotrya (alongide Francesco Boscolo) and their latest single 'Wind'. Remixes come from JRMS and Robin “Faze Action” Lee aka Andromeda Orchestra's remix.

The prolific Nang proudly presents another legend to appear in its roster, following recent releases from the likes of DJ Rocca, Daniele Baldelli, Andrew Wheaterall, Rayko, Toby Tobias, Luke Solomon, Prins Thomas and more. Mr. Beppe Loda has always been identified as one of the founding fathers of Cosmic / Italo Music together with his long-time friend Daniele Baldelli. The Italian producer has been around since 1970's, becoming one of the most important figures on the scene and influencing the following generations of Disco producers and DJs.

His latest single 'Wind' is part of his project Egotrya, in which Beppe plays various instruments (drums, synths etc) together with his partner in crime Francesco Boscolo. 'Wind' comes out on Nang in September and it's once again magical and timeless. Both their 'Stella Vocals' and Beppe's personal version are two magnificent examples of his celebrated style, fusing synth's solos with rolling grooves and relentless Disco bass-lines.

Nang also includes in the package 5 different mixes, coming from the likes of Robin Lee (from Faze Action) aka Andromeda Orchestra and No Static's JMRS: both the artists offers up 2 versions each of Egotrya's original. Andromeda Orchestra moves towards 80's TV theme atmospheres with the 'Post Mic' version (yes its our tribute to Mike Post master of the 80s US TV Theme). He also drops a unique mixture of Disco and classic 90's House with his 'extended remix'. Ireland-based JMRS fuses futuristic melodies with Nu Disco grooves and places on top of them Loda's original synths' solos, creating summery and nostalgic vibes with both his 'Garden Party' and 'Hollywood and Vine' remixes..

Egotrya's 'Wind' is due for release on the 16th of September and its the perfect way to salute the summer.

Nang nips into the teleport to Sheffield for its next release... Hiem are back on the block! The dynamic duo of Bozzwell and Nick Eastwood burst forth onto the scene once more in their first new material since the 2013 "Escape From Division Street" album.   As a taster for their third LP due in 2016 we are ever so pleased to be releasing (from what could be seen as a slightly left field direction) the ostentatious and highfalutin "Lions, Cheetahs, Enforcers". 

Its big, its bold, its slightly weird and we love it.  Bozzy deathwish vocal over a ponderous steamroller bassline with machine gun percussion and beats.   First up in the remix department we head off to eastern Russia for one of our favorite remix crews "Kim and Buran".  They bring disco beats to the fore with their ever-slick smooth bass, pads and swirling synth disco master-class. Karaman is next up. He takes things in a underground direction with his warbling bassline and twisted lead synth rework.

Hiem have worked with a fair few legends themselves, Roots Manuver and 80's heroes Phil Oakey and Visage. So its quite appropriate that the next remix from Alex Dee Gladenko is glowing in an 80's aura.  Tight percussion and tightly compressed punchy bass reigning supreme.  Next its off to Dubai with Glass Coffee and his peak time house remix.

Things round off with Audio Luxury and their fine remix.. it starts as nu disco stomper and ends with layers of distorted guitar.  Go Figure.

We end the package with a  remix from Klein and MBO.  Although sadly "MBO" Mario Boncaldo  passed on in Feb 2015 his dying wishes were to preserve the name "Klein and MBO". Here his partner Tony Carrasco (Klein) does a fine job with collaborator John Metus keeping things electronic, electro and bombastic.

The Mexican collective Future Feelings crew of Fernando Dimare, Juan Soto (an existing Nang warrior), Thomass Jackson and Dan Solo are back. The talented foursome follow up their "Downtown Girl" debut with the second single from their eponymous album.  "Find Out" has alterady featured on the Beach Disco 6 compilation and here we are pleased to be presenting it in all its remixed glory.

"Find Out" is all about a locked on slap bass and plucked electric guitar combo groove.  This track has funk and swing in the bucket loads.  Add in some darting female top line and the recipe is set for groove.  The original version gets a 12” extended remix version for the opener before London based Pete Herbert delivers the first of the remixes.  He keeps the stabby grooves forefront but takes things into cowbell and synthbass floor territory.

Russian Sofatalk is next up with his electronic and synthy soundscape before Serj V zooms in on the darting picked guitar and warm analog bass grooves.  Italian Disco Volante pairing Irregular Disco Workers give us some more floor led beats before Pete Herbert finishes off in dub territory.

The debut album from Future Feelings is also out on Nang.

Following on from two extremely well received singles on Nang we are pleased to release a mighty-fine album from the Saint-Petersburg based Kim and Buran. The group have been around on the disco scene for nearly 12+ years now and with their unique styles of twists and tones.  A hook up with Nang was definitely overdue.   The foursome cover a kaleidoscope of styles with their music, brushing through the phases of disco, soul, funk and electronic sounds.

The group seem to have a fondness for travel... particularly of the airline and space variety.  Its not only the song titles that reflect this, it’s the constant momentum and escapism within the music itself.   70s funk crosss-overs, cosmic pads, arppegiated firefly synths all power the tracks along.  All complimented and enhanced with the rolling guitar riffs and picked lines.  

Tracks such 'Voyager' moves towards the slightly darker edges of the cosmos, the pointed bass line marches through the back of the mix and underpins the gradual accession from the keys whilst the enigmatical pads drift from peak to peak as you loose yourself in the shadowed ambience that is the deep, cosmic skill of Kim and Buran.

Rounding off the release is 'Fly To Sea' which brings you back down to the terra firma with a graceful bump, a funky riff is rolled out at you in full force closely guarded by the cosmic flare you have become accustomed to whilst you've taken the cosmic journey.

Its not all about travel however with tracks such as Teleskope and Running On The Waves Kim & Buran don their balearic hats to server up a permanent slice of Summer.  Brushing away those wintry blues.

Hot on the heels of the extremely well received fourth Sare Havlicek album "Softmachine" we dive deep into the remix pool of its lead track. Our Slovenian superhero has provided us with a fine track as the basis for a 5 track remix extravaganza.  The remixes slip though multiple musical flavors of electronica, Italo, dancefloor, disco and smooth soul pop.  

We open with the afore mentioned original of "Softmachine".  The track shows us Sare's finely honed song-writing prowess and sense of smooth soul all wrapped up in a lazy electronic groove 80's sparkling synths, meandering robotized main vocal line and tight drums are the order of the day. 

Opening up the remix account is our Scandanavian friends Disco Dispair.  They crank the groove a notch or two up bringing us a sea of funky swing and tons of bold disco swagger.  Ukrainian producer Sasha Alexander teams up with his fellow cohort Max for the next outing.   It's a slow pulsing, heatwave of a groove.  The synths are slow and almost seem melt out of the speakers.

Keeping his Sci-Fi credentials full-on Sare next brings us the futuristic instrumental version.  Big bell-wave chords and stabs ring out.    To round off the package we take a Balearic detour from Irelands Micko Roche.  Slow, deep, late evening percussion, warbling bass-synth and a low slung bass guitar are added for a slow chugging Balearic dub finish to the EP.

'Dance All Night' is the first EP from Russian/Hungarian duo Kontinents who impress with their sleek production and proficient songwriting. Based in Moscow and Budapest, Peter and Holic (head honcho from Space Walker recordings) combine to create polished Nu-Disco with a warm, lively twist. 

Actress/Singer Shusha features on both songs on the EP, her voice and melodies perfectly accompanying the duo's groove-infused instrumentals. 

EP opener 'Dance All Night' is a poppy disco track featuring lush synthesizer arrangements and a hyper-catchy chorus that bursts into life. 'Be With You' is more sparse and stripped down, forgoing the bouncy vibe of the first track for a more tender approach. The two tracks compliment each other fabulously; 'Dance All Night' celebrates the raucous party atmosphere of disco while 'Be With You' is a love song with a disco sheen. 

Two remixes of 'Dance All Night' close out the EP, the first from Sare Havlicek who remains rooted in disco but with a less 80's/retro sound, while Yomakomba strays further into a deep house take.

Nang is excited to bring you 'Space Touring', the new single from Cardiff-based songwriting/production collective The Naked Citizens, featuring remixes from Kim & Buran, Richard Norris and Domestic Technology. 

The Naked Citizens released their self-titled debut album in October 2018 on Country Mile Records. 'Space Touring' was the first single and one of the stand out tracks from a diverse and eclectic album that showcases the act's flexibility and malleability as songwriters and producers. 

On the original track, singer Suzi Chunk's vocals are paired perfectly to a driving, disco-funk beat, complete with ABBA-style strings and a massive ear worm of a chorus: 'take me out of this world, to another galaxy' Suzi implores, seemingly into the void. 

Kim & Buran's electro remix swaps the strings for swirling synth pads, skittish arpeggios and a lively keyboard solo. Richard Norris' more traditional electronic approach evokes Kraftwerk with its vocoder and modified chord progression, while Domestic Technology's Robotic Voice remix effortlessly blends a house vibe with the funky groove of the original track.

Over the past 10 years Situation have been creating a diverse and wonderful range of remixes. Now, Nang proudly presents Vol. 5 of the New Masters Series, compiled by Mr Mulatto & Frank Situation, the driving force behind the Bristol based collective.

Situation also includes fellow musicians James Payne on bass/lead guitar and Dom Thompson on Keys, who often united to producing original compositions, as well as a plethora of unique edits, revisiting a diverse selection of music by some of their favorite artists, old and new. Furthermore they are known for running their own label Situationism and have gained wide support from the likes of Ashley Beedle, Groove Armada, Joey Negro, Horse Meat Disco, Pete Herbert, plus Greg Wilson who included one on his infamous BBC Radio 1 Essential mix.

The release opens with a dub edit of the iconic "I Ran (So Far Away)" by A Flock of Seagulls. With delicately processed vocals Situation retain a sense of space and depth in their dubbed up reworking of this 80's classic.  Not ones to shy away from taking on some of the that decades biggest songs, Situation also got their teeth stuck in to another seminal hit of the era, Visage's huge hit "Fade To Grey". Here Situation take a minimalist approach with synth melodies and arpeggios interweaving between the whispering vocals of Steve Strange. In contrast to these 2 massive 80's hits "Strange Kind Of Love" by Love And Money (who should have have been massive... but somehow weren't) get's a chilled reworking.

Situation have delivered a ton of prime Nu disco edits over their time and many of them can be found within this compilation. Their magical edit of Pasteur Lappe's "Na Real Sekele Fo' Ya" is bound to cause some serious moves on the floor with that beefed up low end. Whilst they take an old skool route on their remix of James Rod's "Disco Rocket", with a bubbling acidic bass line and spliced vocals. If your a fan of slap bass then look no further than their Future Feelings "Downtown Girl" remix, this sassy remix really gets the groove going. 

Not just a one trick pony, Situation also show off their jazz and soul influences on several of the featured remixes. Their reworking of Jazzy Funk's interpretation of Stevie Wonder's 1973 monster "Dont You Worry Bout A Thing" raises the heat, with it's infectious saxophone hook and vocal loop it's hard to resist moving along to. Their down-tempo remixes of Sugar Daddy's "Love On The Attack" and Rubberlips "Hold On" dive into a deep emotional world of smooth sonics. 
 
This eclectic collection showcases Situation's superb talent of remixing, the old and the new, the subtle and the bold... truly deserving a place in Nang's "New Masters" series.

The enigmatic duo Soda Pimps, make their return to Nang for their second solo release. Expanding on ideas from their debut Single "Angels 10 Fox One Away & Senga Beats (Best In You)", they continue to create a fresh combination of Nu disco and house.

The Bhutan-born Tandin Norbu sets the tone and rhythm of the release, by laying down crisp and defined drums followed a solid groovy bass line. "Adopted As Holograph" This is then superbly contrasted with the smooth flowing melody and dream like tones from the Chilean Timmy Jorje. This highlights the duos affinity with each other and creatively combines their individual strengths. The track is delicately layered with shimmering sounds from the sea, which take your imagination to a far away paradise.

The Second track "The Secretary Is Stereo Typing" opens with a ethereal soundscape that glides you gently into the punchy beat. Interweaving synth arpeggios and piano stabs create an uplifting atmosphere, before being exposed to a funky lead bass line. The occasional delayed guitar pluck helps keep the rhythm flowing smooth. This dance floor ready track, has a serious groove with a positive vibe.

Back in 2010 one of the first Nang albums we released was from Ichisan (along with Nakova).  Step forward nearly ten years and we are delighted to present another fine masterwork from our Slovenian friend.   

Ichisan is the ever-so-cool moniker of Igor Skafar, a Ljubljana based photographer whose relationship with music began by playing the guitar in various bands.  This love later developed into a love for electronic music. In 2008 he released his first solo 12" on Airtight Recordings. 'Global Pillage' and 'Tips & Tricks'.   Since then he has released records on illustrious labels such as Eskimo Recordings, Solardisco, Rare Wiri, Under The Shade and Internasjonal.   He has also remixed names such as Daniele Baldelli, Space, Billy Bogus and Sorcerer. 

Please step forward an album of eight brand new tracks (including 2 bonus ones on the digital). Polykarp.    The production ethos has taken a time shift with Ichy preferring to lead with his ever growing collection of vintage and modular analog gear.  The organic sounds feature heavily and the churning of the oscillators has coloured and enhanced the smooth feel of the record. 

Musically the album is awash with intricate synth melodies,  rising and falling sound washes and layer upon layer of arpeggios.  The drums are electronic and proud, which really help to direct the proceedings.   Style wise you will hear snatches of 70s synth experimental records, 80s synth pop,  underground electro proto-house and snatches of nu disco.   A feast for the ears.

The first vinyl release of 2020 on Nang, belongs to the Parisian producer and newcomer to the label, Kelton Prima. The veteran artist has been producing and Djing since the late 80's, also releasing under the alias of D_Tekt. Prima has released on the Belgian label Disco Praline, Chicago based imprint Mathematics Recordings, Pizzico Nobel and also has contributed remixes for Thieves Like Us and Plastique de Reve among others. Along side him on this release features Hard Ton, the Italian artist, who released previously on NANG188. The duo deliver a cover version of Culture Club's 1983 hit, Miss Me Blind. The release sticks with a retro aesthetic, yet given a modern high impact make-over and features 4 edits.

The "Miss Me Blind" original takes you you on a voyage, straight to a dance floor worthy of the infamous New Dance Show in the late 80's. The upbeat, nu-disco grooves, with Solid bass lines (that later trans into squelchy acid affair) are counter balanced with Hard Tons sublime vocals. The Vintage drum machine sequence is perfectly matched with shimmering synths and guitar riffs.

Second on the release is the The Caribbean House "Vision". This edit takes things a little deeper with a modulating bass arpeggio, that pans across the stereo field. Spliced and pitched down vocal cuts feature in this version alongside chime bell melody and pads that creates a emotional ride.

DJ Rocca, the Italian producer a Nang Records regular, delivers a rhythmic and percussive remix. This is classic Rocca style with retro drum machine programming, and a variety of smooth and silky Italo synth patches. The final edit of "Miss Me Blind" consists of Club Domani's bouncy, bass heavy club version. This upbeat and energetic remix keeping things rolling with break-downs and snare filled drops.
