III, l’album de nÄo est d’autant plus multifacettes qu’il est marqué du sceau numérique de la trinité. Troisième album du trio, et pour autant le premier à avoir été composé véritablement à trois, cet opus est un lien fort entre ﬁliation et rupture. Évolution logique du groupe et de son univers, on y retrouve en effet les inﬂuences musicales déjà assumées des Nine Inch Nails ou 65daysofstatic, autant que celles – cinématographiques – des ﬁlms sombres et froids de réalisateurs comme Darren Aronofsky. Le son de ce troisième album se niche entre l’organique et le digital, entre cristal et charbon : les volutes des notes électroniques, claires et légères dansent au-dessus des puissances minérales et vibratoires des guitares saturées hurlant sous les coups féroces de la batterie. Composé en espace clos, contrairement au précédent qui avait vécu à la chaleur de la scène avant d’être enregistré, III diffuse bien sûr les ambiances orageuses et mouvantes propres au groupe. Mais le noir s’est fait plus intense, plus complexe, à l’image des chemins plus indus et rock qu’emprunte la musique, laissant sous ses semelles le côté électronica des premiers disques. III c’est ﬁnalement la percée schizophrène d’une triple personnalité au sein d’un même élément. Trois sensibilités complémentaires, cohabitant entre amour et haine, participant de façon quasi mystique à la même essence, de façon pourtant distincte.

an intriguing intro carried by suspenseful electronics and alienated voices is only the prelude to a breathtaking sonic surplus of puissant
bass lines, sharp guitar riffs, pushing beats and majestic synths. in continuous progression of intensity, quiet meditative parts turn into 
intoxicating outbursts of power and volume. basic elements of advanced experimental electronics, industrial, post- and prog rock are alchemically interlocked in a most perfect way which is näo's unquestioned trademark. 

on the remixes of tracks previously released on 'III', three french projects deliver fresh components while keeping näo's specific sound characteristics: dub-based drums and predominant bass on matkalybrid's version of 'evol', dead hippies turning 'barnsa' into a fast synth-oriented heavy electro rock tune almost doubling the original track's speed, and a pounding idm interpretation of 'kitab' by 2methyl (aka 2methylbulbe1ol).
