Napeku is a wolof word (the dialect spoken by western african countries such as Senegal, Gambia and Mauritania) meaning "open minded". The main belief of this quartet is that playing and composing Music shouldn't be limited by genres, but it should be inspired by different styles. That's why the influences of this ensemble are coming from jazz and fusion as well as from classical and traditional music.
