Résister c'est rester

Dans son film documentaire Carton rouge, sorti en salles en 2020, Mohamed Saïd Ouma, cinéaste, suit des joueuses de basket comoriennes après la décision de leur président de boycotter les Jeux des îles de l'océan indien en 2015. Il aborde la relation aux territoires insulaires de l'océan indien, aux Comores particulièrement, d'où il est originaire mais où il n'a pas vécu. Le rapport complexe à l'élaboration d'une identité plurielle.

Ce film, c'est avant tout un film qu'il veut politique. Qui questionne les positionnements des hommes politiques, ceux des habitants. Le cinéaste du réel choisit de s'intéresser à ceux qui restent. Car pour lui, dans un pays sinistré, "résister, c'est rester".

Au fil de l'entretien, il raconte aussi les coulisses de la création du cinéma du réel : le champs et le hors champs, le choix des personnages, la manière dont il parvient à entrer dans l'intimité de ses protagonistes, à leur permettre d'être à l'aise avec le regard de la caméra. La relation de confiance entre filmé et filmeur qui ne peut pas être trahie.

Exile and Aloe Blacc have been making music together for many years. The 2 began experimenting with Hip Hop when Aloe was only 16 and Exile 17 with no more than a 4 track tape recorder, turntable and a microphone. Building a fan base pre internet selling tapes on the streets all over the CA southland, eventually reaching the world. The 2 have released many underground tapes and vinyl through out the years and ears of many. The 2 have made many classics with each other but more note worthy when the two began to work on there own. Most people do not know Aloe blacc began as a rapper since his Stones Throw release "Good Things" and number one smash "The Man"
Mean while Exile laying the foundation of new west coast classics with Dirty science crew mates, Blu and exile, below the heavens, Fashawn's boy meets world, and countless production credits from Snoop Dogg, Whiz Khalifa to Big Sean. The two have remained friends and continued to collaborate together, but is not til now the combination bares the fruit of a new album. A look into the darker side of Aloes mind of poetry and lyrical mastery, with Exile behind the production to bring you a modern classic  Dystopia.

With 'Elixir' now available, Aaron Rose shares one of the project's strongest and most personal songs, “The Art of Sole,” boasting impeccable production from J57.

The track follows the more bombastic “Swank Corleone” and militaristic “Parkside Ave,” and it serves to further demonstrate the talents of the Brooklyn rapper formerly known as A La $ole. That’s because Rose uses his rhymes to tackle a number of topics close to him. He fires verbal darts at critics who have tried to pigeonhole his artistry, and later shows love to his late friend/Pro Era brother, Capital STEEZ (RIP).

It’s all soundtracked by acclaimed producer and fellow Brooklynite J57. His work behind the boards absolutely shines here as he serves up a Pete Rock-reminiscent instrumental, which boasts slick horns and crunchy percussion. It’s the perfect backdrop for the Pro Era rapper, who bares his soul (no pun intended) while again flaunting his immense breath control.

“The Art of Sole” is now available for stream. ‘Elixir’ is now available through all major digital retailers and streaming platforms, and can be purchased on CD, via Coalmine Records. *Vinyl copies will be available shortly after the new year.
