Editions Mego mix - tracks chosen by Mego artists and mixed by Nik Colk Void 

"On the train up to Sheffield to play at Cafe DINA, thinking of the mix, I messaged Peter Rehberg (aka Pita)’s long term partner, Isabelle. Isabelle is overseeing the final scheduled releases Peter had pencilled in for Editions Mego, a list discovered on his desk after he passed away in July 2021. I asked her what her favourite Mego track is, and finding it hard to just pick one, she eventually chose Fennesz’s ‘Nebenraum’ from Hotel Paral.lel. 

And so it continued… I went on to ask other artists who have released on Mego the same question. When Peter left too early, he left a hole too big for anyone else to fill, but at least we have his legacy through the Mego catalogue. The releases will stop - mine being one of the last - but thankfully the mass of music he championed will keep existing and coax brave ambition which will continue to break the mould."

Bleep Mix #232 - Nik Colk Void - Editions Mego Label Mix

With great pleasure, we welcome DB1 as our first resident. He is helping to move the project forward for already two years. You heard many mixes from the artists which he invited. So it was a natural progression to make him a part of this. This is a set with only his tracks played by Naturalist. Dylan is collaborating with @logos, @DYL170, @Flxk1, @thereelvison and @Forest-Drive-West.

You will hear new material never heard before (in the second part of the mix). As you see in the image, naturalist's head exploded after hearing all those tracks, so he had to glue it all together.

naturalist plays DB1 | #58

The trudges through the crepuscule lanes, where cedar branches release the drops and the forest is manumitted from the quietness. Zhe Pechorin gathered the wind-filled assembly for Amulet of Tears.

Guidance and close approach to tenebrous force. Lambently textured mix of meandering piano, long-wave static and clamorous nigrescence draws out the new palette of drones ahead in the raptures of dim, deliberately intoxicating the silence.

Zhe Pechorin is a moniker of Belgrade-based artist Andjelina Micic, who takes the melding influx through the smoke swirling tension.
