ਪ੍ਰਭਾਤੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥
Prabhaatee, Fifth Mehla:

ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਪੂਰੈ ਨਾਮੁ ਦੀਆ ॥
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! (ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ) ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ) ਨਾਮ (-ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਿਆ, 
The Perfect True Guru has bestowed the Naam, the Name of the Lord.

ਅਨਦ ਮੰਗਲ ਕਲਿਆਣ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖੁ ਕਾਰਜੁ ਸਗਲਾ ਰਾਸਿ ਥੀਆ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਆਨੰਦ ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ੀ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਸਦਾ ਦਾ ਸੁਖ ਬਣ ਗਿਆ, ਉਸ (ਦੀ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ) ਦਾ ਸਾਰਾ ਹੀ ਮਨੋਰਥ ਸਫਲ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ।੧।ਰਹਾਉ।
I am blessed with bliss and happiness, emancipation and eternal peace. All my affairs have been resolved. ||1||Pause||

ਚਰਨ ਕਮਲ ਗੁਰ ਕੇ ਮਨਿ ਵੂਠੇ ॥
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! (ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ) ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸੋਹਣੇ ਚਰਨ ਆ ਵੱਸੇ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਦੁੱਖ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਗਏ, 
The Lotus Feet of the Guru abide within my mind.

ਦੂਖ ਦਰਦ ਭ੍ਰਮ ਬਿਨਸੇ ਝੂਠੇ ॥੧॥
ਨਾਸਵੰਤ ਪਦਾਰਥਾਂ ਦੀ ਖ਼ਾਤਰ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਭਟਕਣਾਂ (ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ) ਮੁੱਕ ਗਈਆਂ ।੧।
I am rid of pain, suffering, doubt and fraud. ||1||

ਨਿਤ ਉਠਿ ਗਾਵਹੁ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੀ ਬਾਣੀ ॥
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀਓ! ਸਦਾ ਉੱਠ ਕੇ (ਨਿੱਤ ਆਹਰ ਨਾਲ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਗਾਵਿਆ ਕਰੋ, 
Rise early, and sing the Glorious Word of God's Bani.

ਆਠ ਪਹਰ ਹਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਹੁ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ ॥੨॥
ਅਤੇ ਅੱਠੇ ਪਹਰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਿਆ ਕਰੋ ।੨।
Twenty-four hours a day, meditate in remembrance on the Lord, O mortal. ||2||

ਘਰਿ ਬਾਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸਭਨੀ ਥਾਈ ॥
ਘਰ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਤੇ ਬਾਹਰ (ਹਰ ਥਾਂ) ਸਭ ਥਾਵਾਂ ਵਿਚ (ਮੈਨੂੰ) ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਹੀ (ਦਿੱਸਦਾ) ਹੈ ।੩।
Inwardly and outwardly, God is everywhere.

ਸੰਗਿ ਸਹਾਈ ਜਹ ਹਉ ਜਾਈ ॥੩॥
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਮੈਂ (ਤਾਂ) ਜਿੱਥੇ (ਭੀ) ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਮੈਨੂੰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ (ਤੇਰੇ) ਨਾਲ ਮਦਦਗਾਰ (ਦਿੱਸਦਾ) ਹੈ, 
Wherever I go, He is always with me, my Helper and Support. ||3||

ਦੁਇ ਕਰ ਜੋੜਿ ਕਰੀ ਅਰਦਾਸਿ ॥
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਮੈਂ (ਤਾਂ) ਦੋਵੇਂ ਹੱਥ ਜੋੜ ਕੇ ਅਰਜ਼ੋਈ ਕਰਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ 
With my palms pressed together, I offer this prayer.

ਸਦਾ ਜਪੇ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਗੁਣਤਾਸੁ ॥੪॥੯॥
ਕਿ (ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਦਾਸ) ਨਾਨਕ ਸਦਾ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦੇ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਦਾ ਰਹੇ ।੪।੯।
O Nanak, I meditate forever on the Lord, the Treasure of Virtue. ||4||9||

One Universal Creator God. By The Grace Of The True Guru:

ਚੇਤਨਾ ਹੈ ਤਉ ਚੇਤ ਲੈ ਨਿਸਿ ਦਿਨਿ ਮੈ ਪ੍ਰਾਨੀ ॥
chetanaa hai tau chet lai nis dhin mai praanee ||
ਮਨੁੱਖ! ਜੇ ਤੂੰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਨਾ ਹੈ, ਤਾਂ ਦਿਨ ਰਾਤ ਇੱਕ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਸਿਮਰਨਾ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕਰ ਦੇ
If you are conscious, then be conscious of Him night and day, O mortal.

ਛਿਨੁ ਛਿਨੁ ਅਉਧ ਬਿਹਾਤੁ ਹੈ ਫੂਟੈ ਘਟ ਜਿਉ ਪਾਨੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
chhin chhin aaudh bihaat hai fooTai ghaT jiau paanee ||1|| rahaau ||
(ਕਿਉਂਕਿ) ਜਿਵੇਂ ਤ੍ਰੇੜੇ ਹੋਏ ਘੜੇ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਪਾਣੀ (ਸਹਜੇ ਸਹਜੇ ਨਿਕਲਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਿਵੇਂ ਹੀ) ਇਕ ਇਕ ਛਿਨ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਉਮਰ ਬੀਤਦੀ ਜਾ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ ।੧।ਰਹਾਉ
Each and every moment, your life is passing away, like water from a cracked pitcher. ||1||Pause||

ਹਰਿ ਗੁਨ ਕਾਹਿ ਨ ਗਾਵਹੀ ਮੂਰਖ ਅਗਿਆਨਾ ॥
har gun kaeh na gaavahee moorakh agiaanaa ||
ਹੇ ਮੂਰਖ! ਹੇ ਬੇ-ਸਮਝ! ਤੂੰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੇ ਗੀਤ ਕਿਉਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਗਾਂਦਾ? 
Why do you not sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord, you ignorant fool?

ਝੂਠੈ ਲਾਲਚਿ ਲਾਗਿ ਕੈ ਨਹਿ ਮਰਨੁ ਪਛਾਨਾ ॥੧॥
jhoottai laalach laag kai neh maran pachhaanaa ||1||
ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਝੂਠੇ ਲਾਲਚ ਵਿਚ ਫਸ ਕੇ ਤੂੰ ਮੌਤ ਨੂੰ (ਭੀ) ਚੇਤੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦਾ ।੧।
You are attached to false greed, and you do not even consider death. ||1||

ਅਜਹੂ ਕਛੁ ਬਿਗਰਿਓ ਨਹੀ ਜੋ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਵੈ ॥
ajahoo kachh bigario nahee jo prabh gun gaavai ||
ਪਰ, ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਆਖ—ਜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਣੇ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕਰ ਦੇਵੇ (ਭਾਵੇਂ ਸਿਮਰਨ-ਹੀਨਤਾ ਵਿਚ ਕਿਤਨੀ ਭੀ ਉਮਰ ਗੁਜ਼ਰ ਚੁਕੀ ਹੋਵੇ) ਫਿਰ ਭੀ ਕੋਈ ਨੁਕਸਾਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ
Even now, no harm has been done, if you will only sing God's Praises.

ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਤਿਹ ਭਜਨ ਤੇ ਨਿਰਭੈ ਪਦੁ ਪਾਵੈ ॥੨॥੧॥
kahu naanak teh bhajan te nirabhai padh paavai ||2||1||
ਕਿਉਂਕਿ) ਉਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਭਜਨ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉਹ ਆਤਮਕ ਦਰਜਾ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿੱਥੇ ਕੋਈ ਡਰ ਪੋਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ ।੨।੧।
Says Nanak, by meditating and vibrating upon Him, you shall obtain the state of fearlessness. ||2||1||
