ਸੁਪਨ ਚਰਿਤ੍ਰ ਚਿਤ੍ਰ ਬਾਨਕ ਬਨੇ ਬਚਿਤ੍ਰ ਪਾਵਨ ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰ ਮਿਤ੍ਰ ਆਜ ਮੋਰੇ ਆਏ ਹੈਂ ॥
Himself holy and capable of making other pious-the friendly True Guru has come into my dream beautifully attired and adored. It is indeed a wonderful marvel for me.

ਪਰਮ ਦਯਾਲ ਲਾਲ ਲੋਚਨ ਬਿਸਾਲ  ਮੁਖ ਬਚਨ ਰਸਾਲ ਮਧੁ ਮਧੁਰ ਪੀਆਏ ਹੈਂ ॥
Beloved Lord is sweet of words, big eyed and clement of form. Believe me! It is like He blessing us with honeyed elixir.

ਸੋਭਤ ਸਿਹਜਾਸਨ ਬਿਲਾਸਨ ਦੈ ਅੰਕਮਾਲ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਰਸ ਬਿਸਮ ਹੈ੍ਵ ਸਹਜ ਸਮਾਏ ਹੈਂ ॥
He looked pleased and honoured me by occupying my bedlike heart. I was lost in the love filled trance of Nam Amrit that merged me into a state of equipoise.

ਚਾਤ੍ਰਿਕ ਸਬਦ ਸੁਨਿ ਅਖੀਆਂ ਉਘਰ ਗਈ ਭਈ ਜਲ ਮੀਨ ਗਤਿ ਬਿਰਹ ਜਗਾਏ ਹੈਂ ॥੨੦੫॥
Enjoying the bliss of divine dream, I was woken up by the voice of rain-bird and that broke my celestial dream. The awe and marvel of love-filled state disappeared reawakening the pangs of separation. I was restless like a fish out of water. (205)

ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥
One Universal Creator God. By The Grace Of The True Guru:

ਮਾਈ ਸੰਤਸੰਗਿ ਜਾਗੀ ॥
ਹੇ ਮਾਂ! (ਜਿਹੜੀ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ) ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ (ਟਿਕ ਕੇ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਦੀ ਨੀਂਦ ਵਿਚੋਂ) ਜਾਗ ਪੈਂਦੀ ਹੈ,
O mother, I have awakened in the Society of the Saints.

ਪ੍ਰਿਅ ਰੰਗ ਦੇਖੈ ਜਪਤੀ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਧਾਨੀ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
(ਉਹ ਹਰ ਪਾਸੇ) ਪਿਆਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਹੀ (ਕੀਤੇ) ਕੌਤਕ ਵੇਖਦੀ ਹੈ, (ਉਹ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ) ਨਾਮ ਜਪਦੀ ਸੁਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨੇ ਵਾਲੀ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ।ਰਹਾਉ।
Seeing the Love of my Beloved, I chant His Name, the greatest treasure||Pause||

ਦਰਸਨ ਪਿਆਸ ਲੋਚਨ ਤਾਰ ਲਾਗੀ ॥
ਹੇ ਮਾਂ! (ਜਿਹੜੀ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕ ਕੇ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਦੀ ਨੀਂਦ ਤੋਂ ਜਾਗ ਪੈਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ) ਦਰਸਨ ਦੀ ਤਾਂਘ ਬਣੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ (ਦਰਸਨ ਦੀ ਉਡੀਕ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਉਸ ਦੀਆਂ) ਅੱਖਾਂ ਦੀ ਤਾਰ ਬੱਝੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ ।
I am so thirsty for the Blessed Vision of His Darshan. my eyes are focused on Him;

ਬਿਸਰੀ ਤਿਆਸ ਬਿਡਾਨੀ ॥੧॥
ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਹੋਰ ਹੋਰ ਪਾਸੇ ਦੀ ਪਿਆਸ ਭੁੱਲ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ।੧।
I have forgotten other thirsts. ||1||

ਅਬ ਗੁਰੁ ਪਾਇਓ ਹੈ ਸਹਜ ਸੁਖਦਾਇਕ ਦਰਸਨੁ ਪੇਖਤ ਮਨੁ ਲਪਟਾਨੀ ॥
ਹੇ ਮਾਂ! (ਮੈਨੂੰ ਭੀ) ਹੁਣ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਦਾ ਆਨੰਦ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲ ਪਿਆ ਹੈ । (ਉਸ ਦਾ) ਦਰਸਨ ਕਰ ਕੇ (ਮੇਰਾ) ਮਨ (ਉਸ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ) ਲਪਟ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ।
Now, I have found my Peace-giving Guru with ease; seeing His Darshan, my mind clings to Him.

ਦੇਖਿ ਦਮੋਦਰ ਰਹਸੁ ਮਨਿ ਉਪਜਿਓ ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਿਅ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਬਾਨੀ ॥੨॥੧॥
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਆਖ—ਹੇ ਮਾਂ!) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਦਰਸਨ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਹੁਲਾਸ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ । ਹੇ ਮਾਂ! ਪਿਆਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਹੈ ।੨।੧।
Seeing my Lord, joy has welled up in my mind; O Nanak, the speech of my Beloved is so sweet! ||2||1||

Bhaj Raamo Man Raam // Raag Kaanra // Dr Gurnam Singh Ji

Born at village Mulla Hamza in Montgomery District (now in Pakistan) in 1900 A.D., Bhai Samund Singh was given training in music by his father Bhai Hazur Singh Ji from his early child-hood. As a little boy he won a number of prizes and distinctions at musical concerts. He came to be known as 'Kaka Samund Singh' and was much in demand at Sikh congregations. His party came to be known as the best in the understanding of their art and almost perfect in presentation of Gurbani Kirtan. With his unique melo-dious voice, an extensive and deep understanding of Gur-bani, correct interpretation of ragas, attractive style of sing-ing and great human qualities, he reigned supreme for sixty years in the world of Gurbani Kirtan. He performed kirtan at the Gurdwara Janam Sthan, Sri Nankana Sahib, the birth place of Guru Nanak Dev, for many years. He broadcast kirtan for 36 years from All India Radio, Lahore and later from Jalandhar and commanded wide listening. Passers-by stopped in the streets to listen to his kirtan irrespective of their faith. He was invited to perform kirtan in the National Programme of Music by All India Radio, the highest recognition of his art. He was given State award by the Punjab Government in 1971. He passed away at Ludhiana (5th January, 1972).
