ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥
One Universal Creator God. By The Grace Of The True Guru:

ਸੰਗੀ ਜੋਗੀ ਨਾਰਿ ਲਪਟਾਣੀ ॥
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! (ਇਹ ਜੀਵਾਤਮਾ ਅਸਲ ਵਿਚ ਵਿਰਕਤ) ਜੋਗੀ (ਹੈ, ਇਹ ਕਾਇਆਂ-) ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਦਾ ਸਾਥੀ (ਜਦੋਂ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਾਂ ਕਾਇਆਂ-) ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ (ਇਸ ਨਾਲ) ਲਪਟੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ,
The body-bride is attached to the Yogi, the husband-soul.

ਉਰਝਿ ਰਹੀ ਰੰਗ ਰਸ ਮਾਣੀ ॥
ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਮੋਹ ਵਿਚ ਫਸਾਂਦੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ, (ਤੇ ਇਸ ਨਾਲ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ) ਰੰਗ ਰਸ ਮਾਣਦੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ ।
She is involved with him, enjoying pleasure and delights.

ਕਿਰਤ ਸੰਜੋਗੀ ਭਏ ਇਕਤ੍ਰਾ ਕਰਤੇ ਭੋਗ ਬਿਲਾਸਾ ਹੇ ॥੧॥
ਕੀਤੇ ਕਰਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਸੰਜੋਗਾਂ ਨਾਲ (ਇਹ ਜੀਵਾਤਮਾ ਅਤੇ ਕਾਇਆਂ) ਇਕੱਠੇ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਤੇ, (ਦੁਨੀਆ ਦੇ) ਭੋਗ ਬਿਲਾਸ ਕਰਦੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ।੧।
As a consequence of past actions, they have come together, enjoying pleasurable play. ||1||

ਜੋ ਪਿਰੁ ਕਰੈ ਸੁ ਧਨ ਤਤੁ ਮਾਨੈ ॥
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਜੀਵਾਤਮਾ-ਪਤੀ ਕਾਇਆਂ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਤੁਰਤ ਮੰਨਦੀ ਹੈ ।
Whatever the husband does, the bride willingly accepts.

ਪਿਰੁ ਧਨਹਿ ਸੀਗਾਰਿ ਰਖੈ ਸੰਗਾਨੈ ॥
ਜੀਵਾਤਮਾ-ਪਤੀ ਕਾਇਆਂ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਸਜਾ-ਸੰਵਾਰ ਕੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਲ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ ।
The husband adorns his bride, and keeps her with himself.

ਮਿਲਿ ਏਕਤ੍ਰ ਵਸਹਿ ਦਿਨੁ ਰਾਤੀ ਪ੍ਰਿਉ ਦੇ ਧਨਹਿ ਦਿਲਾਸਾ ਹੇ ॥੨॥
ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਦਿਨ ਰਾਤ ਇਹ ਇਕੱਠੇ ਵੱਸਦੇ ਹਨ । ਜੀਵਾਤਮਾ-ਪਤੀ ਕਾਇਆਂ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਨੂੰ (ਕਈ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ) ਹੌਸਲਾ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ।੨।
Joining together, they live in harmony day and night; the husband comforts his wife. ||2||

ਧਨ ਮਾਗੈ ਪ੍ਰਿਉ ਬਹੁ ਬਿਧਿ ਧਾਵੈ ॥
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਕਾਇਆਂ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ (ਭੀ ਜੋ ਕੁਝ) ਮੰਗਦੀ ਹੈ, (ਉਹ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਸਤੇ) ਜੀਵਾਤਮਾ-ਪਤੀ ਕਈ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਦੌੜ-ਭੱਜ ਕਰਦਾ ਫਿਰਦਾ ਹੈ ।
When the bride asks, the husband runs around in all sorts of ways.

ਜੋ ਪਾਵੈ ਸੋ ਆਣਿ ਦਿਖਾਵੈ ॥
ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਲੱਭਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਲਿਆ ਕੇ (ਆਪਣੀ ਕਾਇਆਂ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਨੂੰ) ਵਿਖਾ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ ।
Whatever he finds, he brings to show his bride.

ਏਕ ਵਸਤੁ ਕਉ ਪਹੁਚਿ ਨ ਸਾਕੈ ਧਨ ਰਹਤੀ ਭੂਖ ਪਿਆਸਾ ਹੇ ॥੩॥
(ਪਰ ਇਸ ਦੌੜ-ਭੱਜ ਵਿਚ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ) ਨਾਮ-ਪਦਾਰਥ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੱਭ ਸਕਦਾ, (ਨਾਮ-ਪਦਾਰਥ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ) ਕਾਇਆਂ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਦੀ (ਮਾਇਆ ਵਾਲੀ) ਭੁੱਖ ਤ੍ਰੇਹ ਟਿਕੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ ।੩।
But there is one thing he cannot reach, and so his bride remains hungry and thirsty. ||3||

ਧਨ ਕਰੈ ਬਿਨਉ ਦੋਊ ਕਰ ਜੋਰੈ ॥
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਕਾਇਆਂ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਦੋਵੇਂ ਹੱਥ ਜੋੜਦੀ ਹੈ ਤੇ (ਜੀਵਾਤਮਾ-ਪਤੀ ਅੱਗੇ) ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕਰਦੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ—
With her palms pressed together, the bride offers her prayer,

ਪ੍ਰਿਅ ਪਰਦੇਸਿ ਨ ਜਾਹੁ ਵਸਹੁ ਘਰਿ ਮੋਰੈ ॥
ਹੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ! (ਮੈਨੂੰ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ) ਕਿਸੇ ਹੋਰ ਦੇਸ ਵਿਚ ਨਾਹ ਤੁਰ ਜਾਈਂ,  ਮੇਰੇ ਹੀ ਇਸ ਘਰ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕਿਆ ਰਹੀਂ ।
"O my beloved, do not leave me and go to foreign lands; please stay here with me.

ਐਸਾ ਬਣਜੁ ਕਰਹੁ ਗ੍ਰਿਹ ਭੀਤਰਿ ਜਿਤੁ ਉਤਰੈ ਭੂਖ ਪਿਆਸਾ ਹੇ ॥੪॥
ਇਸੇ ਘਰ ਵਿਚ ਕੋਈ ਐਸਾ ਵਣਜ ਕਰਦਾ ਰਹੁ, ਜਿਸ ਨਾਲ ਮੇਰੀ ਭੁੱਖ ਤ੍ਰੇਹ ਮਿਟਦੀ ਰਹੇ (ਮੇਰੀਆਂ ਲੋੜਾਂ ਪੂਰੀਆਂ ਹੁੰਦੀਆਂ ਰਹਿਣ) ।੪।
Do such business within our home, that my hunger and thirst may be relieved.""||4||

ਸਗਲੇ ਕਰਮ ਧਰਮ ਜੁਗ ਸਾਧਾ ॥
ਪਰ, ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਸਦਾ ਤੋਂ ਹੀ ਲੋਕ ਮਿਥੇ ਹੋਏ ਧਾਰਮਿਕ ਕਰਮ ਕਰਦੇ ਆਏ ਹਨ ।
All sorts of religious rituals are performed in this age,

ਬਿਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਰਸ ਸੁਖੁ ਤਿਲੁ ਨਹੀ ਲਾਧਾ ॥
ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਸੁਆਦ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਭੀ ਰਤਾ ਭਰ ਸੁਖ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੱਭਾ ।
but without the sublime essence of the Lord, not an iota of peace is found.

ਭਈ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਤਸੰਗੇ ਤਉ ਧਨ ਪਿਰ ਅਨੰਦ ਉਲਾਸਾ ਹੇ ॥੫॥
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜਦੋਂ ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਇਹ ਜੀਵਾਤਮਾ ਤੇ ਕਾਇਆਂ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ (ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ) ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਮਾਣਦੇ ਹਨ ।੫।
When the Lord becomes Merciful, O Nanak, then in the Sat Sangat, the True Congregation, the bride and the husband enjoy ecstasy and bliss. ||5||

ਫਰੀਦਾ ਦਰੀਆਵੈ ਕੰਨੈ੍ ਬਗੁਲਾ ਬੈਠਾ ਕੇਲ ਕਰੇ ॥
 ਹੇ ਫਰੀਦ! ਦਰਿਆ ਦੇ ਕੰਢੇ ਤੇ ਬੈਠਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਬਗੁਲਾ ਕਲੋਲ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ,
Fareed, the crane perches on the river bank, playing joyfully.

ਕੇਲ ਕਰੇਦੇ ਹੰਝ ਨੋ ਅਚਿੰਤੇ ਬਾਜ ਪਏ ॥
ਹੰਸ (ਵਰਗੇ ਚਿੱਟੇ ਬਗੁਲੇ) ਨੂੰ ਕਲੋਲ ਕਰਦੇ ਨੂੰ ਅਚਨ-ਚੇਤ ਬਾਜ਼ ਆ ਪੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ, 
While it is playing, a hawk suddenly pounces on it.

ਬਾਜ ਪਏ ਤਿਸੁ ਰਬ ਦੇ ਕੇਲਾਂ ਵਿਸਰੀਆਂ ॥
ਜਦੋਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਬਾਜ਼ ਆ ਕੇ ਪੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਤਾਂ ਸਾਰੇ ਕਲੋਲ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਭੁੱਲ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ 
When the Hawk of God attacks, playful sport is forgotten.

ਜੋ ਮਨਿ ਚਿਤਿ ਨ ਚੇਤੇ ਸਨਿ ਸੋ ਗਾਲੀ ਰਬ ਕੀਆਂ ॥੯੯॥
 ਜੋ ਗੱਲਾਂ (ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਕਦੇ) ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਚਿੱਤ-ਚੇਤੇ ਵਿਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਨ, ਰੱਬ ਨੇ ਉਹ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੀਆਂ ।੯੯।
God does what is not expected or even considered. ||99||
