For their inaugural release, London-based Vysyon presents Mercuri: an enchanting EP of enigmatic techno featuring work by Swiss artists Varuna & Mateo Hurtado.

Having developed their brand of abyssal club music through releases on Amenthia Recordings & their own imprint A Walking Contradiction, Varuna dive into the void on ‘Remote Pulsar’. Driven by a disorientating polyrhythm cloaked in opaque atmospherics, the trio’s otherworldly approach to sound design is on full display. By contrast, the pounding 4/4 kick & propulsive acid bass of ‘Uvez Echos’ entrance the listener into a state of dancefloor reverie.

Mateo Hurtado casts his own unique magic over the flip, showcasing his archetypal mystic sound established via an album on Annulled music & remixes for Space Drum Meditation. The mesmerising flute melody of ‘An Invisible Fire, Working In Secret’ casts a spell of hypnosis, while the flowing, amorphous pads & twisted bass of ‘The Eternal Mirror’ conjure visions of worlds unknown.

About this mix : "This is the opening mix from my performance with Border One at Upside Down in Osaka, November 2024.
I put together the set with an overall organic atmosphere.
I love everything from fast, percussive techno sounds to slow, minimal, organic techno and deep house music.
For this set, I freely controlled the sound and track selection in response to the energy of the floor.

TENO, a DJ/producer currently based in Osaka, has been making a strong impact on the scene in recent years through both his DJing and production. His DJ sets create a deep sense of immersion with a danceable and groovy techno sound, driven by powerful rhythms ranging from minimal and downtempo to straight techno, elevating an organic consciousness. His sound is always precise yet fluid, shaped by a unique and flexible approach that engages in a dialogue with the audience, filling the space with a distinctive presence. Through numerous podcasts and live performances, he continues to solidify his identity, delivering moments that leave a lasting impression on those who experience them.

After a quiet stretch, Silent Season briefly emerges from hibernation to present Kumonomori, a new EP from Hidden Sequence — the duo of Paul Simmons and Stefano Ugliano. Longtime fans of the label, the pair crafted these tracks with Silent Season in mind, drawing deeply from the textures and moods that define the catalog.

Kumo no Mori (雲の森) — which translates from Japanese as Cloud Forest — is a contemplative journey through sky forests and ancient echoes, rooted in the organic pulse of deep ambient techno. Each track unfolds with a sense of patience and depth: from the drifting warmth of Bisaro Anima to the dappled light of Komorebi, through the reverberations of memory in Ancestral Echos, and finally into the misty stillness of Cloud Forest.

Originally tucked away while the label lay dormant, the release now sees light with spring’s arrival and the timing of Bandcamp Friday — a moment that felt right to share this work with the world. Kumonomori is a quiet offering from the den, a reminder of the timeless sounds that continue to shape Silent Season.

Hidden Sequence ~ Ancestral Echos [SS31]

Speculation about the possibility of inhabited worlds beyond Earth dates back to antiquity. With this new EP long time Bass Agenda Recordings family member Lectromagnetique tries to figure out the Origin of some of these worlds through two audio signals, intercepted somewhere in a sound lab in Chornobyl.
