Recorded in the oldest rainforest on Earth (one of the oldest), in Belum-Temenggor (Malaysia) during the night. 
We placed drop rigs attached to trees near salt licks.
One elephant found one of our rig, and detached it, then play around, eating mud, chewing and blowing with its trunk. 
Then he completely destroyed the gear. Hopefully we were able to read the memory card.

Själ ties everything the Stockholm based cellist has been doing into a consolidated, coherent and above all magnificent work, filled with rich emotion and, in keeping with its namesake, beguiling soul. As one of the most expressive instruments at a composer’s disposal, Henrik allows the cello to do the talking. Slow and deeply stirring arcs, married with sweeter taps of piano, cello plucks and subtle electronics.

The evocative capacity of television or film scores pervades the album, each track painting up vivid imagery of both the real and the transcendent. Sväva takes the listener on a journey above a rolling desert, while Ren Och Fin paints a pensive picture of medieval Europe that would give Ramin Djawardi a run for his money. Master of atmosphere, anthéne, provides the epilogue with his expansive deconstruction of Kraft.

Above all, Själ is as elegant as it is grounded in immersive feeling and deep, resonant imagery. And in his own words:

The soul communicating with the nervous system.
It gives you thoughts and images in your inner mind.
It can be memories or diffuse pictures. It takes you away from reality.
A musical-tonal floating away of the mind.

Between the orbits of Mars and Jupiter is a mysterious dwarf planet called Ceres. Its surface is dark and muddy, but has hundreds of patches of bright material. The salt-covered dome and other bright features in Occator Crater are so reflective that they looked like flashlights in distant images. NASA’s Dawn spacecraft got a close look, and pointed scientists to the idea that liquid brine has come up from the interior of Ceres, forming the Occator dome and other bright features. Ceres’ crust also contains a significant amount of ice. Astrobiologist Britney Schmidt discusses the implications, as well as her fieldwork in Antarctica.
