Id on't u nd ers tand. I don't know what too much of any of this is anymore. I don't want this I don't need this, please let me have some. I felt it crunching under my godforsaken boots and the sickly smell wouldn't leave my damn nose. Everything I found funny hurt and all my misplaced understandings remained as unexplained ramblings. 
The next morning when I woke up in burnt clothes with a burst lip I noticed that there was a lively, freshly cut red hibiscus flower within my left hands grasp. It was beautiful, and it was burning. The fire was smokeless and the flower was invulnerable. The glow was hot but I found pleasure in it's warmth. I stayed in that spot until dusk.
