Back in the pandemic days, we had way too much time on our hands — so we made music, wrote lyrics, and recorded a bunch of stuff we’re now slowly bringing to life.

This one’s really close to our hearts. A good friend of ours, Nero, got stuck in Switzerland during lockdown and couldn’t make it back to Italy — so he ended up jumping in, co-writing a few tracks, and doing all the Italian vocals.

‘Love in the Time of Pestilence’ is an experimental metal track that reflects upon the events of the ongoing pandemic and global crisis. Composed and recorded during the outbreak of the first wave of Covid-19 in Europe, the amplitude waveform view of this track, with its peaks and troughs, is in itself a visualisation of the evolution and progression of the pandemic over the course of the year 2020.

The spoken lyrics combine original writings with historical quotes in order to remind humanity that if we don’t learn from history, we are doomed to repeat it. The artists chose to release this track as Europe goes into a second Lockdown. It is an appeal to humanity and an emergency broadcast to mankind at a critical moment in the current crisis.

The accompanying music video is a tribute and homage to all the healthcare professionals around the world who have risked their own lives to save the lives of others. The video documents mankind’s experience of plagues and pandemics over the millennia. This is presented through a corpus of art historical works, archival photographs, and film footage. The Chronicles of Manimal and Samara (TCOMAS) are a London-based duo comprising Andrea Papi and Daphne Ang. Coming together in early 2020 to record their debut album FULL SPECTRUM, the duo are fast establishing their niche in music as pioneers of a new form of expression, through the performance of poetry in music, and as an act that traverses between the wide-reaching spectrums of music.

I love amphibians and have an affinity for fried okra, loud guitars, and sick beats. expedition 33 and port wine are my thing at the moment, along hollow knight and rise of the ronin.

Since 2007 NASP is a OMA (OneManArmy) a solo project entirely made by me Alexandre Santos born and raised @ Porto in Portugal.
That said, here´s a little global description for my sound:
"The world created by Not a Side Project is a mix of dark and light, war and peace, high peaks and fluid valleys, where silences become loud and the blend of guitar and drums carries the listener in a sublime trip through ominous atmospheres."
