The next EP on Desert Hearts Records comes from UK based producer, Holt Blackheath, who’s been on our radar the last couple of years putting out tracks on CUFF and MadTech Records. His EP titled Kick Back is a 3 track package including 2 originals from Holt and a remix from the UK homie, Kreature. The title track is a party anthem that embraces the Desert Hearts vibe to it’s core, not taking house music too seriously and just havin' a good ol' time. The B-Side, Switch, is a twisted night time chugger that acts as the perfect compliment to Kick Back. Finally, the EP is rounded out by Kreature’s 128 BPM tech house banger that’s akin to long nights we’ve had at Circoloco. Full force from start to finish, this is one of our favorite EPs that’s come out on the label so far.

Chain One is the beginning of a new remix compilation on the label New Port Records. Together with artists such as Rene Bourgeois, Nico Pusch, Monova, Dennis Rema, Red Rooms, Copilco and Martin Kleinert, we have generated something new again from already released tracks. We all share the same love for technoid, bass-heavy music. Everything is connected and has a meaning, even if this sense is often hidden, we know that we are close to our true mission when our actions are imbued with the energy, the driving tones, the oppressive bass and the enthusiasm. So we forged an interlocking chain of synthesizer, drums, pads, claps and leads to create something new, tangible. And so we would like to pass on the one to the other and to celebrate the sense of community and cohesion.

The 146th release on Tash's Movement Recordings welcomes Ziger back to the label for a brand new single. The Greek artist last appeared on the Greek imprint in May of 2016 with a remix of Michael A's '17 Pounds'. Now fresh off an EP for Hernan Cattaneo's Sudbeat Music Ziger makes his much anticipated return to Movement with 'Faith in the Future' alongside remixes from SEQU3l and Matan Caspi. 

Much loved for his pure progressive house sound Ziger sticks to roots on 'Faith in the Future' and delivers one of the genres true gems. Anchored by pulsating tones and meaty kicks the piece moves through a variety of pensive motifs over its seven minute journey. Energetic yet meditative; solemn synths, luminous textures and subtle hooks wrap around the framework, ultimately leading to a charming break. Dulcet and dreamy, the one minute interlude shifts planes as the beats fade off before a tasteful build takes you back into the cosmos.

“We are both from San Diego, California & met in a music studio class at uni about 3 years ago. We have released a few things individually, but this is actually the first EP we have done together, even though we have been friends for years & practically live a stones throw away from each other.”
Sly Turner is a 23 year old producer originally from Granite Bay, a small town just east of Sacramento. His influences are drawn from ghetto house, tribal drum elements & all things funk & disco. Shuski is a seasoned veteran behind the decks & has been a staple in the San Diego scene for the last few years.

Could Nasser Baker be the next huge talent unearthed by Objektivity boss Dennis Ferrer? We certainly think so. Displaying a real maturity in his productions and a distinct lack of vocal fear, Nasser delivers quality, time and again.
 
Off of the strength of his first ever release and label debut, ‘Salutations EP’ (Objektivity, 2013) came the 2015 'Deadlines EP' (Objektivity), followed by the 'Future Primitive EP (Objektivity, 2016). Keeping it busy in between the original releases, Nasser has delivered a couple of stellar remixes for PMR, Objektivity, Nervous and more. His 2016 endeavour, the ‘Gramercy EP’ on Suara received great reviews and showed off Nasser’s more techier side. Follow-up releases didn’t disappoint. Both ‘Just Like That EP’ (2017, Objektivity) and ‘Say Something’ (2018, Circus) received raving reviews and connected brilliantly where it matters most – the dancefloor.
 
The 2019 marked a collaboration with Yulia Niko on ‘Someone I’m Not’, another banger called “Shake It Shake It” (both on Objektivity) followed by the now classic ‘Bodytude EP’ on Relief. A “rising artist with a sound and musical taste well beyond his years” according to upfrontbeats.com, Nasser choses quality over quantity time and gagain, and Bodytude EP is the proof. Title track ‘Bodytude’ opens the EP is fine style as Baker combines infectious lead synth with hooky male vocals and bumping low-end tones to reveal a lively cut typical of his ever-maturing production style, whilst ‘Pickelhollaback’ introduces a more off-kilter arrangement as layered vocal samples work alongside soaring melodies, driving percussion arrangements and sporadic bleeps and sonic effects go to work to shape up proceedings.
 
Feeding off the success of Bodytude, Nasser releases his ‘Tribes of The Metronome’ on Dirtybird in 2020. The title single's stuttering bassline and simple vocals is an example of how to have maximum impact without being overproduced. The flip side, 'About You' is a tech house track with a house music feel - dirty bass and a playful lead line, accented by a straightforward phrase that proves effective.
 
After taking a couple of months to regroup and recharge in the studio, the next brainchild of Nasser was ready to meet the world. 2021 marked Nasser’s return to Relief with the ‘Funky Uncle EP’ followed by his remix of ‘Whisper’ (Ferrer & Disciples, Defected) shortly after.
 
Currently back in the studio wrapping up the next batch of fresh beats, Nasser is excited for the world to go back to normal and can’t wait to share the dancefloor with everyone once again.
